need some info for vegas trip....

hi, anyone living in vegas or staying there for us open in july ? i stay at wild wild west and wanted to ask if someone knows if there is a bus going on dean martin drive ? this leads straight to the rio or which way i have to go ? maybe someone can help me out a bid or even someone stays in the same hotel to share the ride ?

Probably taxis are your best bet. There may be other players staying there, and you could just hang around the lobby for a while until someone with a pool case goes by.

According to Google maps, which in theory does bus transit, your public transit solution is to walk (about 30 minutes). Take water.

Not in Vegas, Limo's are cheaper than taxi's are(on the square), its about the last Mob run biz and its the worst, they long haul, hire the worst of the worst losers, its the worst city in the world for Taxi's.

There are lots of shuttles that go to the Rio, Palms and Gold Coast from the strip to get people over to that side, when you get to town Sascha ask the hotel people(at the Rio) they will steer you right.
 
thanks eric but i would have to ask at my hotel not the rio probably.....as far as i know now i can take a bus on the strip up to paris and get a free shuttle from there to the rio. probably best option. but i will give it a walk up dean martin drive once and see how far it is. you still in town eric ? would love to see you again and hang around this time. shoot me a pm, i did already :)

If youre a young guy, its not that bad of a walk, but in July ? Forget about it ! You will feel like youre walking in an oven, lol.
If i see any buses running that way i will take note of the numbers and all and post it for you.
As i said i go that way every day and its not that great of an area to be walking around in at night, unless you got a .45, then it aint that bad, lol.
I will keep my eyes open.
 
My suggestion is stay away from the Wild West casino, I've never heard anything good about it. I've always heard of drugs and prostitution around that property. (Of course that might be a great reason too stay there...LOL)

The Gold Coast Casino is right next door to the RIO about a 100 yard walk. :thumbup:
 
its booked anyway and the feedback on the hotel is good. if others would have been cheaper i would have stayed somewhere closer to the rio but that trip is gonna be expensive enough already...
 
Sascha, forget about Dean Martin, no buses. But if you walk one block to Valley View and Trop, theres a bus that runs right to Flamingo and Valley View which is where the Rio is.
Should get you there no problem, just look at the link i posted for residential, and then look for Valley View and you will be all right.
 
cool thanks man, thats not far to walk from there maybe 1 km. or just take another bus from there.....you earned a beer if we meet :wink:
 
I had to jump on a bus in vegas recently, as I was told it would be 1hr+ to get a cab from the pool room back to the strip.

The bus was far cheaper!

From the maps, it looks like the north-south route is not at Valley View at that point because Valley View does not go through from Trop to Flamingo. The north-south leg is on Arville. There is, however a bus (201) that stops at Wild West that goes to Arville, then the 104 north and the 202 east on Flamingo to the Rio. Walking the east-west segments is about the same distance as the walking-only route on Dean Martin.
 
Not to change the subject but... Vegas weekend Car rentals (about a week or 2 out) are usually deeply discounted for a putt putt. (if driving is an option). Just saying..

i should be in vegas when your there, i been in la most of the last year and a half, in germany now. keep intouch and i'll see u there. :)

Youre right Bob, i forgot Valley View dont go through because of the train tracks. Arville would be the next option, sorry bout that.
