Included in the forty-player main event were top players Gabe Owen, Mike Davis, Shannon Daulton, Sparky Ferrell, Jeff Abernathy, Eddie Little, and Greg Dix.

Not to sound like a nut-hanger, but this guy can play. :)

He's off to great start this year!

I'll take the 6 and the breaks, but we can't bet more than $1,000 a set. :D

Russ

That wouldn't be very fair Russ. I give C-players the 6-OUT and the breaks.:D

Congrats to Larry.

I find it puzzeling why so many on this forum have such little respect for his game. He has game.

One of my favorite sayings when the woofing starts, "Make sure and ask for enough, now."

He has "breaks." He kills the break. Runouts are soooo much easier when you make four on the snap.

Ain't that "the Truth"! :)

When Tiger Woods first turned pro, my step father (who is a golf pro) said Tiger was being over-hyped and would never succeed in the PGA.

There will always be naysayers, but when you see a group of skilled players (including Nick Varner) gathered around watching a player's performance with a look of total amazement, it's confirmation that you're witnessing something special.

People stand around watching the aftermath of a motorcycle wreck, too. :D :D :D

Here. Let me make it clear and simple for you.

Most people are not that impressed by Larry because he KILLS regional events, but has no major win as of yet. Most people look up to professionals for their mental game as much as their stroke.

Larry has the best stroke on tour, and possibly the best break, as well. He also has not come through when it counts MOST, in the finals of a major event.

Until he has ONE year as good as an Archer, Reyes, Strickland, Varner, Bustamente, etc... He's a second-tier guy, no matter how many regional events he wins.

No offense to Larry. He is a very very very good REGIONAL champion. People just don't like seeing him hyped up like he is the next Van Boening, because the guy can't even take off a major with the best break/stroke combo on tour.

Russ

Anyone know any "Top" player he's knocked off for the cash? Not to be flamed, but I don't know of any.

Sorry to tell ya, but everyone is second tier to Efren.

Calling Larry a "regional" player is a little trite. The "regional" event in question had some "top-teir" players. Larry has consistently won these events. He has a DCC all-around. Why can't he get some respect for that? Why must it be that he needs to win a world title or US open to be praise-worthy.

Do you realize how many "champions" come along and never win a single "major" event? Reid Pierce won the US Open...is he considered "top-tier"? Or did he have to win 2 to make it to that level?

Hell, I would love to be able to do in my hometown what Larry has done on the GSBT, but I can't even do that!
