Never forget Mike Lebron

I mean, the only certainty missing is the iron-clad evidence. It's pretty obvious for anyone who has played the game that this reeks.

Agree, probably have your thumbs broken (or worse) trying to find out at the time lol

Can be hurtful, I agree with you. But That doesn't mean we should put up walls, or blind ourselves to reality. These people represent the thing we love. I grew up admiring Amir throwing 90+mph thunderbolts, but I firmly believe he should never have been allowed to play international sport again. We can't justify protecting people who actively desecrate things that we love and enjoy.

Honestly, I can't find a part of my brain that allows such high-calibre player to make such fumbles.

Would have been a nothing burger had Buddy called an audible

will live in infamy as long as it's viewable

destroy the copy and it's rumor in 20/30 yrs

I prefer that 'live in shame till you own your mistakes' school of thought - assuming there is some form of conscience, I hope it weighs heavily, and stays visible for a long time. I wonder how many people profited, and I wonder just how much. Reading the Youtube comments is interesting.

your thoughts have merit

I think you are very mistaken about Mikes skill level, he was not a favorite against Buddy , almost nobody was, but he was not helpless either.
Whatever happened , imo, had very little effect on the future of pool. Why you ask, because it was an inevitability that the players would try some move, that's part of being a pool player. If it didn't happen that week, it would have happened 2 weeks later .
Lebron could play, but he was faltering in that match- perhaps because there was added pressure for him to clean up knowing the deal relied on him to come through

Players that old are bound to have health issues during a match.

I get dizzy, light headed all the time under the hot lights. Then there is the lousy food at tournament locations.

High blood pressure, early stage diabetes and a chance at a artery getting clogged that is what lousy food does.

Then there are the digestive issues. Maybe he just farted during the shot.

Football knows CTE injuries. Soccer has the bruises. Football the broken bones. Ice Hockey collisions are so fast that new rules are being made. Players are making it easier to fight by taking off certain parts of their pads.

Pool is the only sport where if someone misses an easy shot its cheating.

First five comments were trash.

It's not just missing an easy shot is it... it's a visible trail of ineptitude... There's a big difference.

Who knows. Could even be spot betting on particular racks or outcomes, or a specific score that needed to be hit for the set.

When other players miss a foul shot, penalty kick, field goal or an simple put no one assumes cheating.

On competitive math tests if someone messes up the calculations then its not cheating, its called request to be fired.

Why is there all this targeted propaganda against a player who missed?

But it often is? and has been on many occasions. In many sports. It depends on the situational context. Something I imagine you are blissfully unaware of given your internet persona.

Isn't that a fix in itself, if you are 'requesting to be fired' 🤡

It's not targeted propoganda... If it really had any targeted attempt to find the relevant truth, then it would have resulted in personal consequences and information long ago. Instead it just damaged an area with potential for progression, for the past-time many people (yourself included) love and enjoy.

I agree with whoever posted earlier, stating it would have happened anyway, just at another time, in another place. But I'd have the same thoughts about it if did. It's a bit like the book 'Making history' by Stephen Fry, where someone goes back in time to kill Hitler, the situational context of the time meant that there was the same/similar attitude brought to the table but with a different name.

the end of this match looks so fishy.

Buddy is perhaps the greatest position player of all-time and he seems to be attempting to deliberately scratch on at least 2 occasions. Not only that, he missed one of the easiest 8 ball shots in the 2nd to last rack and then dogs a 95% combo in the final rack.

It is almost inconceivable that a player of his ability would play like this- he looked like an APA 4 or a 400 Fargo rate player

One of the reason many said pool is where it is now and before streaming and Matchroom saved pool.

It was once on ESPN but this man supposedly changed it all.

Anyone know this?
Pool players are garbage, and used Mike to line their pockets

Pool players are why pool is where it is

All I can say is what will Emily Frazer do about it,

Players can talk about situations, Emily is the enforcer and jury for it.

Well, it depends on whether they are intending on forming a truly lasting, elite professional sporting environment, or a professional soap opera. It's a little bit of both right now. It also depends on what is truly considered a fix...
One thing is for sure, and that is that throwing games for buckets of cash certainly is.

Pool is part of family entertainment centers.

Talking about it like a cash cow is an outdated culture.

Family time is limited, so how can families stretch it out because ... stuff happens.

Pool has it all for both young and old

how to say nothing while saying some things.

how to say nothing while saying some things.

Filler, Shaw, Gorst are all players that have wives in the industry.

I don't think those guys are changing careers anytime soon.

Pool has a better social scene than other sports.

No one stays at the end of other sports events.

At the end of a pool tourney most want to gamble with the losing players. Its standard practice. Loser pays for food.

Who can out eat Mike Lebron?

Speaking ill of the dead, cannot be a good idea. Whatever happened, happened, and it will all be judged, isn't that punishment enough?
How will any of us answer, when it is our turn, to watch the story of our lives?
Unless you believe you are the pinnacle of this existence, which seems it's own punishment to me.

Just because people die, truth should be left alone? I am not speaking ill of anyone, but of the action. People make shit choices, doesn't always mean they're shit people. I am sure not everyone involved has parted ways with planet earth. Or were you referring to Justnumnuts random ass comments?

Will it be judged? Or should it be judged, studied and utilized here on planet earth... to ensure such things don't happen again, or shape the things that you love in a negative way?
If you don't believe in God(s)/are hopefully agnostic, but generally believe anything followed by masses of people to be a symptom of the human condition. How can judgement be assured?

Wow, morality, philosophy and ethics on a pool forum 🤣 who'd have thunk it?
Never seen him eat. Why go on about this - from a bridge way up stream no less.
Yeah, again, my bad for commenting back to his nonsense. Sorry all.
