Well, I have been thinking about this for years. I decided to step up to the plate.
I am starting a 14.1 league to the area (north of Dallas). There hasn't been one here in over 20-25 years maybe longer. I had thirteen very good players sign up including myself. The season will last four months, with each player playing three matches per month. Matches can be played at any location and any table (8' or 9') as long as both players agree. Players can also play on their home table if both agree. If they do not agree then the match has to be played in a certain room where we all play out of. Matches will go to 150...... There is another 14.1 league that has been going on near Ft. Worth in Hurst.... Here's an idea..... After our 14.1 season is over, maybe we can take the top five players from our league and challenge the top five players out of the 14.1 league from Hurst....... Maybe we can work out some type of tournament...... #1 plays #1, #2 plays#2 and so on.... That would be fun.
Anyways, it's the first time that I am attempting to run a league and hopefully it will stand up to the elements and grow larger & larger.

Thumbs Up

Thank you so much Michael4 & Steve for the posted comment. It is well appreciated.
While I was putting this together, I was thinking to myself..."Steve is going to be proud of me"...... You have done such a great job at Bayshore Billiards with the 14.1 league. Thanks again.

I am looking forward to hearing about your new league. I know you always run big numbers and 9ball Jim is rounding into a pretty darn good straight pool player. And if you say you have many good players signed up already, sounds like the makings of some high quality matches. You can direct any of your players who are new to 14.1 to your instructional videos, and before long everyone down there will know how to play.

Good Luck.

Please keep us posted - watching and supporting the new league will be (almost) as enjoyable as playing :-)

Thanks Dennis for your support.
K2Kraze.... Yes, I will keep everyone updated. One of the guys who signed up to play in the league is working on a webpage for us. That will be neat.

I would love to here how the league is formatted and how you are determining the leaderboard and what not. Is the league handicapped ?

Keep us all posted !!

I've been thinking of setting up a website as well for my league at Bayshore Billiards. What kind of content are you going to have on the site ?

This is a head to head league going to 150. There is no handicap. 13 players. They each play three matches per month by their own appointments, with the season lasting four months. All the places are determined by won/lost, with tie breakers decided by head to head match between the players. There are no dues for any player involved....... 200 for first, 100 2nd, 75 3rd, 50 4th, 25 5th and 100 for high run of the season.... All monies are coming from my deep almost empty pocket....
My friend doing the webpage is out of town on vacation. I will let you know when it is up & running.
