Chang has been consistently performed in almost most every big tournament recently like US International Open(1st), World 9 ball Champ(last 8) and this time Derby City Big Foot 10 ball(1st), he beat Kaci, SVB and Filler to win.

In terms of pool skill he is definitely the one of the best pool player in the world.
However he was not invited to World Pool Mater and not even got into last 5 candidates of Fan's choice spot...that's really weird to me.

Do you guys have any thought to this?

Cheers.
Mark.

Hold my beer.

Kevin is in incredible at pool and we don't really know much about him, or the criteria for the matter you have asked about.

Chang Jun Lin is the world’s best player. His omission from the World Pool Masters probably means he declined his invitation. If he wasn’t invited, it’s either political or clueless.

Chang has made it clear here at the Derby that anyone who wants to play him has action and can bet very high, but even the most elite know better than to accept.

Is this for real? Obviously, he is always interested in a match, just didn't know that he has been actively seeking out some action, at the Derby?

Yes, he’s been trying to make lots of games, but no one seems to want a piece.

Chang’s team likes to bet real high and there’s almost no limit to how much they will bet.

Even when he was world champion, Ko Pin Yi told me that Chang was clearly Taiwan’s best player and that he’d never want to gamble with him.

I actually got in to a debate with a local Pinoy who said one of them DO or Biado went there and beat him , I knew better contacted my source who you know but won't name and he said no that was not true and no one wants to go there and play him there for sure ,, None of them are looking for a coin flip here no doubt that's not how the Pinoy team rolls , If Shane's backer and him thinks they got the best of it more power to them but I doubt it

I think it's just a general lack of exposure. Just a few more wins on the global stage and he'll get a lot more invites and incentives to travel.

So many great players in taiwan to watch but the language barrier probably doesn't help. Case in point, how about this little nugget (1:04:10) from Chang's mentor, Fu Che Wei? Unorthodox stroke for a Taiwanese but man, can he really juice a shot: https://youtu.be/w32RvSOX0rg?t=3850

Ok. I was curious because Chang was never seen much around the 2nd flr (Thurs - Sun). Orcullo got in games in the Big Truck room and Kevin Chang too...

Do you speak Mandarin, Stu? I'm surprised Ko Pin Yi had an in depth conversation like that, with you. When I've chatted with him, I got the impression he only knows a few sentences of English?

He doesn't speak any kind of English.

A buddy of mine drew Chang in the 1pocket. He had a female interpreter with him. After the lag she asked my friend which pocket was Chang's. After he explained she turned and told Chang, "Make balls in this pocket."

He did.

That is so funny cause I can see Chang just laying the smack down after that instruction then smiling at the end and saying good game.

It is generally acknowledged that Chang Jun Lin is the best rotation player in the world.

He also is the best Chinese 8-Ball player in Taiwan. No one in Taiwan will play him even up.

Now, let's remember that Chang has never seriously played banks, one-pocket or 14.1 staright pool. He tried to run some balls here at Derby City and could only muster runs in the 40's.

However, Chang's skill and determination make it very likely that he could, if he put his mind to it, become a world class player in banks, one-pocket and 14.1.

If we were to consider all pocket billiard games, then at this moment I would have to give my vote to Dennis Orcollo as the best all-around player in the world.

And, by the way, there was some very heavy action bet on the Chang-Van Boening match. The Taiwanese have made back all their travel expenses many times over.

If he ever became interested in learning some of the intricacies of how to play straight pool it would be downright scary hoe many balls he might run.

I heard that they were trying to set up a partners game with Chang and Cheng against a couple of Roy's horses.

I would be curious to know what the line would be if Chang and Shane played an even 10 ball set to 50. I've already heard from multiple sources that Chang has steam rolled Orcollo several times.
