I can provide you with a picture of a good example of Balabushka's work. In addition, I do have a few personal experiences with George that may be of some interest.

Thanks Paul, i will contact you.
All others thanks for now as well for your help.

Still looking for Harvey Mason, or his daughter former WPBA player Jo-Ann Mason-Parker.
They are hard to find, but maybe not for someone out there...
Help wanted.

I know Harvey. I may be able to get a hold of him. The last time I saw him was prob 8 months ago. I run into him from time to time around here. I will see what I can do.

Multiple world champion Ray Martin who posts here occasionally owned a Balabushka, I believe a poster named fatboy owns it now.

I own Ray Martin's Balabushka, pictured below.

Have four other Balabushkas and have owned about ten others, Photos can be seen here - http://www.thisisamesmister.com/george_balabushka.html and here - http://billiardcue.com/cues.php?view=1&search_letter=b

Unfortunately Jean's dad has recently passed on. You can try and contact her at Hall of Fame billiards in brooklyn though. She's really great and I'm sure she'll answer questions about Balabushka with no problems.

Big BUMP.

Someone needs to get a book going if this guy isn't going to. George deserves a book... Any of you guys know how to write ;)?
I will buy your first book

The people who knew George and can add to it certainly are not getting any younger...

It would be hard at this stage to write more than what's in the Billiard Encyclopedia.
A book would be possible, however now I think that a lot of the people that actually knew George, are probably gone or memory deficient. The book would be a bit biographical, a large portion of his pool history, including room ownership, his romance with pool as a fan. Then there would have to be a large section on cues, including benefits of his construction, his design eye, and the fact many of his designs are used today, then interviews with cuemakers, snf old time players that could add their 2 cents...

That is how I would suspect the book would flow. Would it sell?
