New break rule for European Open

How many poles in total, how many from the states in total?
Here are the countries listed for the players in the first round. I don't know if there were no-shows. I assume that So Shaw is from the UK -- no country was indicated for him. He is originally from Iran, it seems.

58 Germany
21 United Kingdom
20 Poland
13 Finland
10 United States
10 Netherlands
9 Kuwait
8 Spain
8 Romania
8 Czech Republic
7 Italy
7 Greece
7 Estonia
7 Austria
4 Turkey
4 Switzerland
4 France
2 Vietnam
2 Sweden
2 South Africa
2 Slovenia
2 Singapore
2 Norway
2 New Zealand
2 Lithuania
2 Latvia
2 India
2 Hungary
2 Hong Kong
2 Denmark
2 Cyprus
2 Bosnia and Herzegovina
2 Albania
1 United Arab Emirates
1 Ukraine
1 Thailand
1 Sudan
1 Serbia
1 Saudi Arabia
1 Portugal
1 Morocco
1 Malta
1 Luxembourg
1 Japan
1 Israel
1 Ireland
1 Canada
1 Bulgaria
1 Belgium
1 Australia
1 Argentina
1 Afghanistan

(And no, I didn't count these by hand.)

Here are the frequencies of scores in the first round (128 matches). Only 8 hill-hill matches. (In matches between equal players, hill-hill or winning by one is the most common outcome.)

Score Count
0 -- 13
1 -- 18
2 -- 19
3 -- 16
4 -- 15
5 -- 17
6 -- 11
7 -- 10
8 -- 9
9 -- 128

so germany had 58 entrants and only one got through, UK had 21 and also only one through. filler vs shaw will play next

not counting canada, austria probably had the strongest showing with 28% through, spain also strong with 20% and neither of them are alcaide or FSR

Be interesting to see if, Filler's wife starts knocking on the DOMINANT Fishers' doorway in the next couple yrs? :)
The timing in life for this change is possible. :)
Be different, having husband/wife be the best in the World in the same discipline.

Wonder how many other couples on the planet have this sameness.

can she beat J. Ouschan??

I wasn’t expecting to feel this way. I think this break rule is not only better but also using the template all the way to the finals would seem better than hand racking. Maybe I’ll feel different if someone comes along with a break perfected to a repeatable easy layout, but until then I’d be willing to see hand racking leave if this break style continues to require skill to make the 1 and luck to have a good layout/cueball position.
