New break rule for European Open

Whoever is writing these daily reports on the European Open coming from Matchroom needs help. The report on each match are nearly illegible. I can barely understand what took place during the games and who had the lead throughout the match. I would say an English language reporter who is conversant in Pool could do a much better job. I remember the daily reports Ted Lerner used to make for Matchroom. They were written like an excellent sports report should be.
It used to be Luke Riches some years ago, he was a press officer for MR. Then he quit (or was sacked, who knows, MR tends to have issues with their great employees, like with Nigel and Michaela for instance), and he was replaced of course by another copywriter.
Interesting enough, recently EPBF offered Mr Riches a similar job, so since this year I think he is writing their press releases. His style is a bit too picturesque for my taste, but he knows his job, no doubt. Kudos Luke! :)

Lerner for MR??? Are you sure Jay? The only thing I can remember is Ted writing for WPA from the worlds in Doha (and once from Manila maybe).

You are probably correct there. At least Ted and Luke knew how to communicate in writing what happened on the table. That's my point. Just read the releases coming from Matt Lynch at Matchroom (he may not be the writer) and tell me what you think. Most of the time I have no idea what he is talking about, whoever wrote that drivel.

DAZN has crashed at least three times during the finals. I try to log back in and it says it has no clue ... er, key. Down right now. Facebook stream OK but a little jerky.

Same here. Facebook is better than nothing of course, but DAZN is one of the world's most expensive streaming services and it's incredible they can't make it through a tournament without an outage. Matchroom is stuck due to their boxing focus, but I don't see how this is sustainable as a business for them.

puts SVB in a good position for a record 6th US open.. now he's already been in two big event finals this year.

Now you subscribers in the US try to persuade Matchroom that their contract with DAZN sucks. Like for 1000th time in just two years...

AtLarge stats for this event will be highly interesting.
Dry breaks stats is okay, after all it is just numbers, for any event . But with this format I feel those dry break stats pretty much irrelevant. Like they were showing these numbers during today's matches, and they tell basically nothing. They did mean something before, but not any more.
(Soon there will be more significant stats line: successful breaks, LOL)
