New Cue questions

I currently own two cues - a nice Mike Bender cue and a Lambros. I really like them both but they are fairly similar in terms of stiffness and I want a cue that is a little less stiff. I am curious if anyone has recommendations. I am considering selling the Bender and buying a cue that's a little less stiff. Any recommendations for a more "lively" cue with preferably lower deflection. Here are pics of the Bender.
Thanks!!

That's is a sexy looking cue...

Have you tried an aftermarket shaft? Might be worth it and you could likely get a good % of your $300 back, if you hate it.

Call Mike Bender up and have him make you a shaft to your liking. He can vary the taper to make it less stiff and use a shorter ferrule to reduce end mass. You don't need to sell your cue just get a new shaft.

What are the specs on your two cues?

Butt Weight;
Shaft Weight;
Shaft Size
Taper Length:
Tip Brand & Hardness:
Ferrule Material:
Joint Type & Thread:

Before changing cues or even ordering another shaft, first ascertain what you currently have.
Only then would you avoid repeating the same experience. The anatomy of the cue definitely
involves several different elements and generally. stiffness mostly relates to the cue's shafts.

The guys are right... stiffness is all in the shaft. and taper. Try a new shaft or have Bender make one. Don't take offense at this (Bender gang) but a LD shaft by name brand,i.e. predator, jacoby, Schon etc MIGHT be easier to sell... if you are not happy. However, should you not like the shaft you can have it tapered/narrowed at the neck to the tip. Might make it a bit livelier.

However, I am not an expert.... and it depends on your shooting style. The livelier or whippier the cue the greater the difficulty in keeping on line and not squirting. Smaller tips and smaller necked cues demand precision and are less forgiving for sure.

Any one else have an opinion on this... Please freely comment. This is just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks everyone! I contacted Mike about threading an LD shaft for me. That might be a great first option.
