New cue

Thanks to everybody for the tips and advice. It seemed to be pretty much unanimous that my best bet was a Viking G series or McDermott. I tried both in the store, and got a McDermott Genesis in Colorado Red. 12.75mm, 19.75 ounces. http://www.mcdermottcue.com/MG05_a.asp

I played with it a while after I got home, and it seemed like the more I played with it, the better it felt. Great cue! Not that I have a lot of experience with good cues, but the sensitivity and feel are really impressive.

Ah, you have started along the path of no return my son. Buying new cues and posting on Az. Your doomed,doomed I say!!

Good sticks, Mcdermott. My first two were McDs. Both were stolen in bars . Keep your eye on it. Does Kalispell actually have enough
people to shoot with?

Congratulations on the beginning of what will no doubt become an addiction. I remember when I went from a Sears cue to a MEUCCI! Paid 120 for it and thought it was the SHIZNIZZLE! Unfortunately I went home and looked it up on the web to find out "what the hell is a moochie?" and a whole universe previously unknown to me was revealed. well.... needless to say, many cues and several thousand dollars later my addiction is moving along nicely :D
