New cues - Who made these?

Great, now my photos are out........

(for the record, I brought beer twice and I only brought 11 cues to do repairs on, not ALL of them.....)

:D

ps - I don't think the guy with glasses could build half the cue I can!!
pps - Wow, I just noticed I never have a bad hair day...

You did bring some beer. Henry's:) And there are 3 left for me.

says the guy 1" taller and 50lbs my senior.....

;)

I dunno man. in those pics, you kinda look like you're getting a jump start on the whole 'fattening up for Winter' thing. I mean, I know the camera adds 10lbs. but that begs the question... how many cameras were on you????

-B <--------- lives in a glass house and weighs well over a deuce. ;-)

To be honest and fair, you're not THAT fat. Just "husky". It's the shortness that makes you look chubby.

Still love ya though. And the cues are impressive for a first effort. Congrats!

Like a women would say "Dam that's a great job for your first time " lol
Love them both ..

It's about time, Ross..... I thought you were pulling my leg........ good job, buddy. I think the points came out real nice. Actually, I am very impressed.

When do we see the Ross Cue Shop open up it's doors?

The veneers and points were easier than I thought they would be.... what turned out to be more of a challenge was the black paper. Obviously there is a different method to prep so it doesn't bleed out that I had no clue about.. At least glue lines are tight and the points are even. I'm happy.

RC cues will be a long time in the making. I will be requiring an 80% deposit with est. completion dates given between 10-20yrs. I will make 2-4 cues per year starting in 2016. PM me for more information or to get on my list. ;)

More time is solution.

Thanks again for the incredible experience, Scott. It's definitely some of the cues I'll have for life.

Funny thing... after I turned down the forearm and started to face off the base for the A joint, I kept taking off a bit too much, too fast... I kept having to go over it a few extra times so it was nice and flat/smooth.

Scott said, "you do realize that the more you do that the further apart your points will be........"

Me - "%^#!@"

It was entertaining. I would ask for .010" and he would cut .030".

The funniest one was putting on the ferrules and he was at 13.15". I told him to cut one more tinny cut to get it to 13.10". After that tinny cut the ferrule was 12.50".

Good thing we didn't use Ivory on that one.

I enjoyed trying to teach and the experience was great. It's not easy!!!!!! I missed steps. For got things. I felt like a beginner.

The first day was the worst. I rolled in from a 12 hour drive after a 5 day tournament with no sleep and had to start working. I had a hell of a time walking into the shop to start something I've never done before. After a vacation like that I need a few days to get back into building. Trying to teach was not a good idea.

That's why we didn't press your veneers and the papers show. I forgot that step.

You are welcome to come back anytime and do it again. I'll have 2 more lathes soon and I'll be able to work at the same time.

nice job Ross...i really like the rosewood cue. Not many people can say they built their own cue. congrats to Scott for helping out...teach can be very difficult since everything must be translated from yourself to someone else. Even the most obvious steps have to be communicated. All in all the cues came out great. Love the veneer colors and and design.
