New Diamond Furniture Model Table Being Assembled Today

Moving forward ... pockets that I bought from Pooldawg arrived today .. completion of the table is scheduled for Monday as the mechanic is booked solid .. there are others that could do it but Harry .. the one who did all of the assemble .. will be back on Monday to finish. The pockets look good .. and the rails are beautiful. The under carriage of the table is sturdy .. a lot of nice oak boards. Pretty cool watching the assembly with all of the leveling shims being installed.

Have to get the bench moved from our house .. it's in our utility room and is piled with "stuff". I have a Dillon 550B that I got a good 20 years ago.
It has paid for itself many times over. These are the guns I mostly load for .. pair of Colt 45's with 7.5" barrels, a Marlin cowboy chambered in 445 Colt, and a Shiloh Sharps buffalo rifle chambered in 40-65. Also load some 45 ACP for my Les Baer Premier 45 ACP, but shoot a lot more 45 Colt.
Wow, love those single-action pistols!

No, this is an American Quarter Horse that I trained for barrel racing...just sold him for well into 5 figures.
Alright Joe! Now you can replace your old table with a new Diamond! Let me know...I can get it for a good price!

It sucks to have to wait almost a week to get your table setup right, but hopefully it will play well once they're done. Make sure there is no 'ball hop' off the cushion, when you shoot hard the length of the table. 3 table lengths = a medium shot, 4 table lengths = a hard shot (break speed).
If the CB hops, the rail height may not be correct.

How can simply assembling a table have any effect on rail height? Wouldn't that be a design, or parts-mismatch issue?

Believe you are correct .. Diamond confirmed to me that this table had been built to their "Blue Label" specification .. which was a modification from the previous "Red Label" tables that had a history of short banking. The change was the rail spec. From what I can see the rails simply bolt on .. the table bed itself is all CAD CAM engineered and cut. All parts numbered .. just need to be assembled by a "diamond certified" mechanic, and Harry is, and has been since Diamond came on the scene.

I like my 100+ year old BBC Newport. I had a $3K deal on a local Diamond blue label...but decided not to retire mine.

Finally got the table assembly finished ... surprise ... the pockets ARE pro cut .. barely 4.5" at the opening .. and they get a bit smaller fast. Table looks great.

Wait until you break the cloth in some....you will learn how tough they get.

So glad to see your table complete. It looks great, and you'll have many hours of fun there!

Not a problem .. I buy some extra large hot dogs from a butcher in town .. he gets them from some special packer in Wisconsin.
Instead of a hot dog bun I use the small hoagie rolls that Publix sells .. perfect. Will be putting a small electric grill in the kitchen .. dogs and burgers .. beer and wine.
Don't forget to carve a head on the hotdog, otherwise he won't eat it.

Based on that one overhead photo, looks like a tight 4-1/2” to me - perhaps closer to 4-3/8”. Appears the pocket facing angle may be no more than 139-140 degrees, which should help them play easier than if they were the standard 142 degrees Diamond pockets usually have.

Agreed. My diamond has pro-cut pockets and the width is slightly larger than two balls side-to-side (because the widest part of the balls is actually slightly below the pocket points). Those are 4 3/8 or even 4 1/4--you may want to get a measuring tape and go across point-to-point to know for sure.

Table looks absolutely fantastic!

The standard for Diamond "4 1/2" pockets is that two balls will fit into the pocket where they are both on the flat of the face but will not go over the brink together. Your pockets are not 4.5. The size may be marked under the table somewhere near the (foot?) pockets. There was a question about pocket size on a table at DCC and Chad (Diamond's CEO) ducked under the table a second, looked up at something and said, "Yup, 4 1/4."

I’ve seen 4 1/4 and 4 1/8 on two tables at Buffalo’s that make the 4.5 in the pick look like buckets

Well ... let's say a very tight 4.5 .. maybe 4 3/8.. at the very outside of the cushion corners. Back at the end of the shelf they are 4.25. Couldn't find any markings anywhere. Just need to aim .. then STROKE where I aim. An accurate stroke makes a huge difference I am finding.

Good looking table and the pocket angles look perfect. What size table do you have?
