New England Pool and Billiard Hall of Fame- Class of 2013

Three players that dominated the NH pool scene for many, many years are still living at this point (but getting up there for sure):

Chuck Wiggin Sr.
, whose first foray into serious competition was as a youth in the early 1950's when he came in second in the Boy's Club of America national tournament with a high run of about 90 balls. He has since won state titles in four different decades.

Tom Laverriere, who has won more state titles than anyone. He was originally from Lawrence MA and was a city champ there, but has lived in NH for many years.

Eddie Miller, who I believe was originally from Fitchburg, MA and a regular competitor at the New England championships against players like Roger Boucher. Miller has won many NH state titles over the years since he moved here about 40 years ago.

The above info is off the top of my head, but I can definitely help provide contact info, photos and documentation for all three of these players.

Ray Cote He ran the VNEA League in Maine for 21 years. He passed away July 23. He was one of the biggest cue enthusiaste that I know.

Thats sad to hear about Ray Cote. I have not played in the VNEA in years. Ray was a big supporter of pool in Maine for a long time and would be a good addition to the New England Hall of Fame. RIP Ray.

Steve Booth

Steve Booth, who founded and supports onepocket.org, should also be considered for lifetime achievement IMO.

That site has done wonders for one pocket all over the country.

New York is not a part of New England but New Yorkers who have had major accomplishments while competing in New England have been reognized by the New England Hall of Fame, the most obvious being George "Ginky" SanSouci and Tony Robles, each of them a multiple time winner of the Ocean State Championship and many-time winners in events played in New England.

Thanks for the kind words John -- they did recognize me a couple years ago, which was very nice. But, I am hoping they will recognize these three older NH players, who are all deserving:

Barbara Stock and Linda Haywood Shea. Past and present organizers of the JP New England Women's Tour.

Barbara worked tirelessly for several years to keep the tour going and it brought many new women players into the game.

Same goes for Linda who is now running the tour and has been for the last several years.

Both deserve Hall of Fame recognition.

New England Hall of Fame,Bob Walsh?

Tom,
Bob Walsh should be a candidate, he was a true GENTLEMAM of the sport, he played the game because he LOVED it, not to make a living, like his childhood friend Shorty,he was one of the few who would share knowledge, ASK anyone who ever played with him! His theory was there is always the RIGHT shot and the WRONG shot, YOU had to figure out which was which?...

Yes Waterdog (Don Edwards) Tom Seminaro. Jimmy Sure Shot, Bucktooth Jay, Kenny Wellman.

Totally agree with Steve. Chuck Wiggin Sr,Tom Laverriere, and Eddie Miller where some of the best players in NH for so many years.
They are very deserving of the New England HOF.
