curious

Are these being made overseas? Where is Mike building them at? I see him around town every once in a while but haven"t got to chat with him lately. I have heard several different stories so please clarify.

not trying to knock anybody here, butI have heard (on this forum ) that they are in line with the Adam/balabushka cues, in the sense that they are it's George in name only....

happen to be a fan Adam cues... so it is not a knock...

Interesting....

I heard the same.

I know Mike doesn"t have a shop anymore so if he is building them it must be out of his garage.

Did Mike ever build the cues? I met him back when he first started making cases. I had heard that Bill Schick had trained some boys to build cues for Mike. Don't know, Just curious.

I think

I think the guys from Bela Sera cues did the building for him back then...Mike and Cosmo maybe?

First off, I am inviting anyone, anytime to visit my shop in Greenville, South Carolina. I work out of my house, I have a full shop in my basement containing 1 cnc lathe for inlays, 1 CNC 4 saw profile machine for shafts and any tapers, 3- 12 X 30 machine lathes, 1 milling machine for fixing and building tools, 3 small lathes for traveling shows, 2 band saws, 1 metal band saw, 3 grinding stations, a UV spray room, 300 shafts processing and over 2,000 squares of Exotic Hardwoods ready to make into anything that you can imagine. I can take a black and white photo and engrave the picture into a cue and do any type build, any inlay and make any picture in a cue. Now if anyone wants to call me on this I will accept the challange for any money any time. As far as Bill Schick I used to watch him work building his cues at It's George shop in Shreveport, La. back when I sold and used their product back in the late 80's, early 90's. Bill used to help me out with cue repairs and when I started making cues he invited me over his shop and showed me from start to finish how he built cues. He showed me mainly how to use a Gorton 3U Pantograph for inlays. As far as Taiwan I had my Sledgehammer cues made there when I needed 500 cues a month for the unbelievable sales I had for the Sledgehammer back in 2003, (I made over a half a million dollars that I used to build a shop). If I had been smart I would have stuck with Taiwan to build the Sledgehammers as going to McDermott ended up causing me to sell the Sledgehammer break jump name. The new It's Georges are made here in the US. Mike Roberts told me yesterday that he might have the cases to me as early as next week.

I'm Sorry

I was under the impression you were saying these were "It's George cues" Not "It's George by Gulyassy" I wasn't Implying that you Mike Gulyassy didn't have a shop. I was saying there is no It's George or cues by George shop in Shreveport, Louisiana where Mr. Roberts lives and made cases etc...

It's George

Nice looking cue. About as traditional as you can get. Nice to see a classic on the market again. Best of luck with all your sales.

Its George Cues

I looked at these cues at the DCC, they look really good. Veneer colors were great.

I'M CONFUSED (not the first time)

Were these cues made by M. ROBERTS and/or his crew back in the day when they were in La., or, are they something else??

Thanks in advance, Adam
