New member, old 9' table brought back to life.

Hey Guys new guy here. I just wanted to show everybody my new table i built. Im not sure of the make as there were now markings or tags on anything. Its a 9 foot. The wife and I re-did the whole thing. Striped, sanded, varnished. Oak rails, brand new artemis cushions and Simonis 860 HR felt. (thanks for the advice guys) Never put a pool table together nor did i know how much work it was going to take. But we did it with minimal fights lol and it plays beautiful. I got the table for free from a guy that took it out of his grandfathers house and had no room for it. So after all the new felt, pockets, cushions and material to get it fixed i have less the $1000 bucks into it.:cool:

Thanks for looking and if anyone knows what brand it is i would love to know.

I have no idea what type of table that is but it sure does look amazing.

Great looking vintage table you have there. I envy you guys (and gals) with all the talent and patience to complete such projects. Enjoy your table and let us hear from you now and then.

Now, go get yourself a set of good quality balls. That table deserves it and it will play much better :thumbup:

The set i have is aramith Continental. But i know a guy that has a set of Aramith Super Pro that he hasnt even used. So im gonna try to buy them from him. Hope he dosent know what he has. lol
 
This is how i did my pockets. I hate seeing a rip or wood in pockets so i did this. Something i saw online. Gives a super clean look. Pockets cover the staples on the corners.

First off - great job.

Second off - you have the best pool wife on the planet:)

Random thoughts - almost certainly NOT a Brunswick. The round sights on the
rails and the pocket irons would indicate a date of 1920s or 30s. It could be
a bit earlier, but almost certainly no later.

There were lots of table manufactures once upon a time. There are quite a few
folks that restore and sell tables from the old days.

A Google search for "antique billiard table" should yield several sites with pics of
many of these classy old tables. I have whiled away many an hour, but don't
recall ever seeing one much like yours.

Perhaps one of these companies could identify it from the pics.

Let us know if you locate any info.

Thanks for the complements! The old pockets and iron had no identification on them or date. I have spent a quite a few hours looking at old vintage tables and none come up like this. Some similar in design but non with the amount of details on the legs and rails. The rosettes are new too, the old ones were kinda meh lol. The only thing i found was a corner piece of the old tag stapled to the inside of a curtain between the legs. I will take a pic of that corner tonight and post it. Its a white tag with green letters (letter) only thing on it is the end of the brand name. Just a "c" so im assuming it ended in "inc"
 
Table looks nice!! So how long did it take you? I love seeing these older tables back in service. Just finished up one myself!! Enjoy it!!
 
Thanks it took the wife and I about 3 weekends. But remember we had to strip, sand, stain and repoly the whole thing. Plus a lot of it was trying to find the right stuff. Like the rosettes took forever to find ones we like that were not 10 bucks a piece (18 of them)
