Since the Viking tour left town there hasn't been much going on in IL.
We're working on getting a bi-monthly 10 ball "tour" started in the fall of 2009. Going to shoot for a good combination of 7ft and 9ft table venues.
I'm sending this out as a feeler and to get some ideas. If you feel like you'd like to play in this, host a tournament, or just think the format could use some tweaking, please let me know.
In order to get this off the ground I'd like to get an idea of who would be showing up and if there is any interest, so just reply let us know what you think!
Here's what were thinking for the format.
$500 added based on 64 players
10 ball dbl elim.
A B C Players race to 9, 7, and 5 respectively.
Alternating break/rack your own.
Payout will be 25% of the field with just over 50% going to first.
There will be a final tournament with $1000 added garaunteed for all members of the tour. Final tournament will be
Tour card would be one time only fee roughly $25 to $30 and would include some added benefits such as discounted rates on some billiards
products through our sponsors or and at each of the pool halls that participate (i.e. discounted hourly pool rates for members is just one example).
Each tournament would be roughly a $25 entry for tour card holders ($5 greens fees included).
If you are not a tour card holder you can get into $500 added tourneys for $40 but again, only tour members can play in the final $1000 added event.
Tournaments would be held on the weekends and calcutta start times would be high noon on saturdays. 11am warm up We will try to keep the tournament to 1 day, but with a full field expect it to stretch to sunday. Our start times will be strict. So pool players, plan on being punctual for once!
Player Rankings
Unknown players without identification who are just "visiting town" can plan on playing as an A. If you have ID with you and we can do a little research it may prove useful. If you are a pro or shoot at a pro level you will be an A, otherwise you are most likely a B. If you are just getting your ears wet, you will be a C. MOST players will be B players. Ranking will most likely not change, unless you are dominating the field as a C or B we can and will make adjustments for the following tournaments. We want this to be a level playing ground and we feel that ten ball is a great way to do that.
