New Pool Hall, need a good table mechanic

Should be finalizing the deal on a new pool room in the next 2 weeks. As of right now, 10 Valley bar box, 8 Gold Crowns, 1 old Brunswick 10’ Snooker table. I am wanting to put 10 more Diamond Bar box in to have some variety.

I am going to contact Shane “cuephoric” here on AZB to come in to set the GC up right, but if I cant get him, who is the absolute best to redo these tables. I want this person to come in and if need be, go over each and every table to make sure they are all 100%.

Anyone have any ideas if Shane can’t do it?

Thanks everyone
Shawn

Glen (realkingcobra) maybe.

I am gonna contact Glenn as well....I hear is is super backed up, and I want this done in August. I am going to contact him though, thanks.

I am gonna have a big tournament quarterly, and have 7500.00 allotted to add to the pot for each tourney. I am wanting to attract some big names...shouldnt be a problem.

Congrats on the new room. I will have to make a road trip to one of your tournaments to check it out. Good Luck! I'm not sure on the top mechanics but have heard good things about Ernesto Dominquez in Cali.

Thanks mars, will keep Mark in mind. I appreciate the info.

How many tables does Johnnys room have?

Thanks for the info on Ernesto.

I am going to have weekly tournaments, but I want to have 1 big tournament quarterly. I think 7500.00 added will be good incintive to get some good players in the room. Lots to iron out, but the money is there.

I am gonna need all the help I can from AZ on what everyone would want.

Also gonna buy some new machines to clean and polish shafts, and redo tips. Probably get a couple of Chris Hightower machines. Lots on the plate right now.

There's a great table mechanic here in Cincinnnati. His name is Dave Thompson with A+ Some Assembly Required! (513)258-6411 I've worked with him in the past on some projects and we've become very good friends. I highly recommend him and his work! If you decide to call him, tell him Sherm sent you and I'm sure he'll treat you like family. Good Luck with your room. You have a huge set of rocks to enter the business during these tough times, but hopefully you'll be in on the upswing!

Trust me, the price was right!

GREAT BOAT, GREAT POOL ROOM, what else does a guy need?

YOu've already got some lines on good table mechanics.

With the $7500 added tournaments, the players should be beating a path to your room.

Are Calcuttas allowed where this pool room will be?

Wishing you the best, Shawn!

Way to go Shawn Im glad your opening your own room. I hope the best for you and your buisness venture. If Im ever down your way I will be sure to stop in and check it out ,,>>ED

mark gregory, perfect pocketz ( that's the company name and i believe his sn on az) 770 548 4292 is the number i have. haven't talked to him a while though. he used to be house mechanic for the pool room (when it was a pool room) they had about 28 or so gold crowns including the gcV he subextended the rails on which is still one of the best tables i have ever played on. he was the house mechanic at classic in conyers GA. last i heard, all diamond smart tables and 9ft diamonds, about 20 or so tables and if he did the tables for gem city (they were beautiful by the way, who ever did them) there's about 30 or so tables in MBC. Marietta billiard club has a mix of olhausen - sp? which is what was used for the tourney and some gold crowns in the back room. so he can work on a lot of tables and a mix of brands, and do custom work. i don't know if he'll travel out your way but if he will he's very good. if i ever get time off and build my game room i want him to do my table. he's a nice guy and great mechanic.

Thanks Joey, Yes, calcuttas will be allowed. I think it would be neat to even do an internet Calcutta....There will be wifi installed and going to get some new equipment so we can live stream for tournaments. I dont know anything about the live stream bit, but I want enough equipment to be able to live stream at least 2 tables. Thats just something I have to work on getting up and running.

SD Billiards

Donnie at SD Billiards in Orange County is the go to guy for Diamond and for anything else, for that matter in So Cal. Check out some of the threads in the mechanics section on his work. Ernesto is the other go to guy, and RKC leads the pack, but your biggest problem is going to be scheduling any of them for long enough, soon enough....

Yep...i agree. If i have to hold off for a month or possibly 2, I will do that. I dont like the way the tables are now, and want them 100% for whenever we have the 1st major tourney...dont know when that will be either..Lots and lots to do

ftgokie, in what town is your room to be located. Be a long drive for me unless it's in NE OK, but it sounds like it might be worth the trip. I could get the word out in Springfield and Joplin, MO.

Don't lose that snooker table!!

Best of luck with the new room!
