New Shaft ?

Hercek cue shaft

Please feel free to checkout my website and call if necessary to assure yourself that yes another type of shaft can be built in the 13mm range that will play firmer and not change the overall balance. I would need to have the butt sent to me for measuring and mating of the new shaft. Total time with shipping time included would be about one month. Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

3.6oz. with a brass insert and stiff hit will be tough to at 13mm,but i am sure someone has some super light shaftwood out there.one option would be to have someone make a shaft for you out of a Predator blank.the radially laminated shafts are lighter in general.

I have a Hercek Cue that has a 5/16 Ivory Piloted Joint.

I have never been crazy about the hit ( soft ) so I've tried a couple different shafts, one being a Richard Black a little better hit but a little bit small in diameter.

The RB Shaft is 11.29 mm and weighs 3.6 oz.

I really like the feel of the balance of the cue with this shaft, cue weighs 18.1 oz. with this combination.

Would it be possible to have a shaft made in this same weight that would messure close to 13.0 mm and have a solid hit ?

I like a solid / firm hit with good feedback.
Would maybe changing the ferruel material help achieve this ?

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tommyd1

Hi Tommy; Before you have a new shaft built , try to change the one you have. The "hit" is a combination of several things. I would suggest that you have a repairman install a ferrule, made of a harder material & combine that with a harder tip. This combination can give you a more solid hit & feel & save you a lot of money...JER
