I have it from a very reliable source that Pete Tascarella and his son just opened a new shop near Hickory, NC. They are making what they call "Carolina Customs". They were recently at Randy Canipe's pool room Randolph's in Hickory showing off some of their work. Word is they have brought in some talent to run the shop and are looking to hire more. The story I got is they are going to mass produce the cues by the hundreds to ship overseas. I'm pretty connected to the scene in these parts, but this is all news to me. Anyone else know about this? This is truth...I confirmed it through several sources.

Wayne told me he had heard about their plans to do this a few months ago, but I didn't know they were already up and running here.

Yes it's true it got for someone else .who's geting q from him hand made ...

To My Knowledge, It Is Called Carolina Cues. Pete Jr Will Be Running The Shop. Pete Sr, Was Down Ther To Help With Setup. I Can't Answer With 100% Accuracy, But This Is What I've Been Told.

I was talking to Sr. about a month ago and he mentioned that he's backed up since Jr. was moving down to North Carolina...didn't know that it was for, now I do...

Hope this doesn't impact the value of the current cues they're making.

IT SHOULDN'T. THERE ARE SEVERAL CUSTOM CUE MAKERS WHO SET UP PRODUCTION SHOPS. PETE SR, WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD QUALITY CUSTOM CUES IN NEW YORK. EVEN IF SR WAS TO STOP BUILDING CUSTOMS TO WORK IN THE CAROLINA SHOP, I WOULD THINK HIS CUSTOMS WOULD GO UP IN VALUE, BECAUSE THEY WOULD THEN BE IMPOSSIBLE TO ORDER. THE HARDER THINGS ARE TO GET, USUALLY THE MORE DESIRABLE THEY BECOME.

some cues are coming out!

last sunday(june 11,2006) i bought a carolina cue! hits great!
3/8 -10 joint. one shaft so far. black /white irish linen. not sure of weight nor length. forearm is chechen wood, buttpiece is ebony with a white buttcap and brown bumper. ferrule is probably ivorene 3 i think.
no points in this one though i have seen one four pointer- a very very nice cue. my cue has black rings with silver diamonds in them. i will have to get a bunch of pix taken form you all. my only regret about this purchase is that i didn't go ahead and buy the fancy bird's eye maple forearm cue i could have gotten as well. i gotta go. maybe it will show up.
