FYI, I just posted a new video that covers a wide range of throw shots that can help you win games, where either cut-induced throw (CIT) or spin-induced throw (SIT) is important or used to your advantage. Check it out:

Contents:
0:00 - Intro
0:36 - Slow Roll
1:52 - Stun
2:47 - Rail Cut
4:22 - Max SIT
6:01 - Max CIT
7:03 - Frozen Combo
8:00 - Thin Cut
8:44 - Spin Transfer Bank
9:39 - More Info

As always, I look forward to your feedback, comments, questions, complaints, and requests.

Enjoy!

Great video, DD, , I am at a point right now in my game that is trying to incorporate these type of throws and Spins. It is a work in progress like everything else, and the video is helpful.

Bravissimo for producing such a simple to understand explanation about throw which was illustrated with the best videos
I’ve ever seen to communicate the principles of throw. This is really exceptionally helpful for every skill level of pool player.

Thank you. I’m glad you found it helpful.

Thank you! I worked hard to keep this one simple but still useful.

Was anybody else as shocked as I was with how far up the rail the CB could hit and pocket a rail cut shot with speed?

So I posted years ago about a great 14.1 player said you can throw a ball into the corner pocket when there is a ball near along the rail that barely blocks the pocket. Say a object ball just in front the side pocket and a blocking ball along the rail on the far side of that pocket.

No less of a authority the Bob Jewett said it's not possible without table roll? If i remember right he offered a reward for video proof of it?

It sounds like you are talking about curving an OB’s path, not throw. I defeated Bob’s challenge in the video below, but it took a chalk mark at the ball contact point:

When hitting a frozen combo on the right side to throw it left if it is really far off I will use left hand spin to create a little more right spin on the first ball .
Speed is also important as is distance from the pocket, the slower you hit a frozen ball combo the more it will throw.

If you hit the 1st ball into the 2nd ball with a 1/2-ball hit (center-to-edge aim), no sidespin is required to get maximum throw. In fact, adding sidespin will reduce the amount of throw. But if you are limited by the angle you can use, sidespin can definitely help. For more info, see my other recent video on this topic:

Slow speed is critical to maximize throw. For those interested in more info, see:

I'm shocked. I just used it twice in a row to run my last two balls, get on the eight and win my match. I swear the cue ball hit the rail a quarter inch from the ten and it still went on a Diamond table. Spin doesn't seem to affect it going in either, so you can control the cue ball as needed.

Nice find DrD!

I’m glad to hear it.
