new viet 3c record

Once again I see the beauty and elegance of our sport. No matter the troubles in the world, the billiard room is a place for sanity and recreation. It is that way the world over! Take a look at this dignified and sanitary facility they are playing in here. Who wouldn't want a respite in a place like this. It's like finding an oasis in the desert. Our game is a delightful contrast to the big blustery sports like Football and Basketball with all the hype and the over priced, entitled athletes propagating them. I marvel at the skill of young Tran and his sheer control over the paths of all three balls.

Let me to Billiards! :thumbup2:

Pool tables were hard to find in mid-60s Vietnam (except in USO clubs), but billiard tables were common. Must have something to do with their French colonial cultural heritage. Luckily, few locals played 3-cushion back then, so straight-rail was simple enough for me to learn & easily be competitive. The language barrier was an issue, but I always thought that kind of social interaction made me a better ambassador for American values than the majority of GIs who only frequented the bars & brothels.

Well Said!

This is the example of Pool that needs to be promoted, excellent!

Nice run. I'm surprised pool survived the Communist re-education camps.

Recreational cultures are hard to suppress. The conquistadors likely left a lot of animosity behind, but you will still probably find many Aztec decendents attending Mexican bullfights (something the Spanish imported?). I wonder how Mao would feel today about Asians dominating a traditionally ‘western’ pastime like pool?

Every player should have at least a little 3c time, on a
billiard table...….

you don't know what you don't know.....

What a high level of play. He was probably playing position of all three balls.Where has this guy been hiding?

What it looks like according to bert chart on

Berts billiard page

Bert being official stat keeper for the umb or something of that matter

Seems this is the second greatest match for a 3c player in official competition

Second only to dick jaspers who earlier this yr made 40 in 4 a 10 average
