New York & Washington in October

I am going to New York and Washington from 8th - 18th of October. Any tournaments in these two cities those dates?

It is a job-related trip so don’t know how much time I have available but hopefully I can go to play atleast one weeknight in each city, and I know for sure that I have all the Saturday 14th to play pool if I want.

Will be in New York 8th - 15th, and Washington 15th - 18th.

What part of New York City will you be in? In NYC I think you need to visit Amsterdam Billiards. I don't see any weekly tournaments listed on their site, though. Sadly, Steinway is closed.

@JAM may be able to help with the Washington area. Do you have a location there?

You need to extend your trip through Nov. 4th when the International Open ends in Norfolk. ;) You could also take in the American 14.1 Championship.

Will live near Amsterdam Billiards and definitely visit it again.

In Washington I am not quite sure, but most likely it will be walking distance to the White House.

Unfortunately I have no choice but to travel to and from USA on the dates mentioned above. If I could I would have extended both before and after, so I would have had 2 free weekends but that's not an option this time.

The MVP tour is pretty much the only tournament tour happening in NYC right now. I do not think they have ever held a tournament at Amsterdam billiards. They usually do them at cue bar with some raxx and carom cafe getting occasional tournaments.

The tournament scene in NYC right now is still trying to get back from the COVID disaster and how pool halls were treated by state government officials.

Which reminds me that a trip to Carom Café is worthwhile if you have any interest in Carom. I think they have weekly handicapped events but I don't know when.

Infos are mostly on Facebook. You can search for Mhet Vergara's ProAm Tour or Raxx Classic Tournament Series. But there seems to be no weekend event in your week. For a weekly tournament: Mondays at Carom Cafe in Flushing, Thursdays at Cue Bar in Bayside or Wednesday or Fridays at Skyline in Brooklyn, which is the smallest of them. I wish Raxx would bring back their weekly, but they have a lot of leagues now. Holden did run a very nice Monday tournament back when....

These would be all 9 ball.

Not much going on tournament-wise in DC that I know of. I haven't played serious one pocket in years, sadly. But I'd be happy to have a reason to start hitting again. I could meet you in DC at Bedrock Billiards or we could go not that far out to Street Light Billiards. The latter has the more serious players but is in Alexandria off of 395. Walter a/k/a black-balled might just come out too.

That sounds exactly like something I would do.
