Newb Questions: Seyberts tricks me?

I've done quite a bit of business with them over the past year. I'd have to say that they have been THE BEST business, of any kind, that I've dealt with over the internet ever. Their business practices, pricing and customer service have been second to none. They have went above and beyond to help fix any problems that have arisen during an order. I will continue to do busness with them before any other online billiards store whenever possible. I have yet seen any kind of trickery in anything I've purchased from them. If anything, their shipping cost are probably costing them in the long run. They do an excellent job of packing and shipments are always received earlier than expected.

The thing that's bugging me about this thread you started is that you weren't "tricked" out of anything. You noticed an increase in shipping costs that seemed odd and you decided not to go forward with your purchase. No money spent, no money lost. Fair enough.

What really isn't fair or helpful to anyone is starting a thread assuming that it was a deliberate "trick" without making any attempt to even ask Seybert's what the deal was before you came to your conclusions.

Edit - I really should learn to write faster!
The above quote says it well.........NERVOUS NOVICE YOU SHOULD HAVE CALLED SEYBERTS AND TALKED TO THEM ABOUT IT............

hey it's not a big deal...nervous novice mistepped, and we corrected him. If he continues to claim that he's tricked, there might be a problem.

For those of you who have ordered from Seyberts you know what kind of tube the cues come in. You could have a nuclear war and your cue would be safe, that thing has to weigh at least 2 pounds!!

I agree that "trick" is probably not a good word to describe the scenario. For sure I will go find out what happen there behind the scene. Thank you all for the inputs. I was just surprised by what I found. And this post is not meant to stir things up or make it sounds like a big deal.

Flamer Did you complain first!!

Hi guys,
When I first set up the savings on extra items when purchased with a cue, I originally intended to offer just the colors of chalk.

So, I had made the new table in the database to handle the chalk and wrote the scripts to make it all work. Then I came up with the idea of just offering just blue chalk and add some of the more popular tip tools and shaft cleaning supplies that would go nicely with a new cue purchase.

Proud of my neat new idea, I loaded a variety of tip and shaft tools to the database. Unfortunately I did not think about the weight difference because chalk, no matter what the color, would weight the same. So I had the weight set just for the chalk… period.

When I changed it to the different items as the afterthought, I forgot about the weight differences.

I have now updated the table to include a field for the proper weight for each item that we enter in the “extra items” when purchased with a cue. The change is now reflected on our website.

I have found over the past few years that most of our “tricks” have a direct correlation to my stupidity.

I apologize for any inconvenience that this might have caused.

I agree whith everything said from Wylie, i have also purchased many items thru Rick and the Seyberts team and have never been let down by them, they offer great service and low prices and delivery is very quick and reasonable even to Uk, as other say better ringing them to speak about your problem first.

Take a look at my Signature line all of these items, and many other pool related items that I have came from Seyberts. I usually call and speak to Sid personally, if he's not available I'll leave a message and he alway's call's me back. Your not going to find better service. You don't find the President of a company usually that accesable, much less to take the time to reply to a post and take blame for an honest mistake. Place the Order you won't be sorry.
