Newbie looking for advice : Brunswick Metro

Thanks! I got it for $2200 all in, gets delivered on Monday the 25th. Very excited! Appreciate the advice from everyone!

You made a good choice and got a very good deal. I've played a lot on Metro's in the Philippines and they were used in many tournaments over there as well. I could find no real issue with them. Probably still a better table them some we see being used in major tournaments today (no, I'm not referring to Diamond). I've always thought it was a nice looking table with very clean lines as well.

P.S. Love your game room!
P.P.S. The rails are more than wide enough at their narrowest point. Trust me on that. That won't be an issue!

I own 2 metros, imho, the frame isn't built very well and the middle slate will sag of you don't reinforce it somehow.

Nice looking table.

Nice looking on the outside..... (actually I hate the weird shape rails)
Ugly underneath.

Always crawl under a pool table and study the supports, brackets, legs.
Beauty is only skin deep.

You did great man. That table is a big step up from “Home model tables”. I played on them before and they were nice to me. Forum member Marop also has one in his home and has several 100+ straight pool runs on it himself, and some 200+ runs with Corey Deuel doing the shooting. You can find those videos if you are interested in the straight pool sub-forum.

The installed price is great. You’ll love it!

OP:

Congrats on the table.

As for play, if it still has factory specs, it will be good for 14.1., very similar playability as most GC's unless they are tuned-up.

Enjoy,

Jeff

Installed today, love it. Updated photos as promised. Now I just need to learn how to play! My son was very excited when he got home from school today.

Congrats....

You, your family and friends will have a lot of good times in your basement.

A little advice:

Buy a recording device and set it up so you can record your family playing pool together.

I have some footage of my family playing on my table. That video is PRICELESS to me.

Trust me, you will not regret it. Time passes and they will be grown.

Plus, a video camera is a great way to help you see what your doing right or wrong. That way, you will stand a better chance of improving.

You never know, you may be posting some ghost vids at some point.

Again, CONGRATULATIONS.....

Jeff

Is it a commercial table
you will have a lot of years of fun

I like the looks of the table, always have

That table looks perfect in that room. You cant go wrong at that price. That was built to take abuse and make money for poolrooms.
I just installed a 9ft that we sold out of our training center Saturday.
