I know this may be a little off topic, but if anyone knows the answer to this its one of you folks. As best as I can find out the 2 primary models from Ballstar are the BCM201A and the BCM201M. I recently purchased what was supposed to be the newest model from an online vendor. He sent me the BCM201A claiming its the newest model. Does anyone know if that's correct? My experience has always been that the newer models have the suffix increase, not decrease. Seems strange to me. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. I think I've been swindled but I want to be sure before I take action.

Well I have a 201A and its not new as far as I know, I got it about 6 years ago used at that time fyi John

worth noting it works great

How much will you take for it?

I appreciate the offer but I really can't sell it at this point. I'm still trying to work with the distributor to figure out what to do. He swears the BCM201M is the discontinued model and the BCM201A he sent me is the newer one. Still have not been unable to verify that. My emails to Ballstar have not been answered and no one on the forum has been able to confirm or deny his claim either. Plan is to wait another week and hope I get some more responses before making a decision as to plan of action. Thanks for the interest though.

The older model looks more like a crockpot. The newer model looks more like a blender with the controls mounted almost flat on a bulge on the front side of the crockpot.

That's exactly the information I needed. Mine looks like a blender so I guess I got the new one after all. Thanks Glen.

I have the older model and still after 5 years get players asking me when the chili is ready :grin-square:

I read a thread with this question last year before I bought a BallStar cleaner. I managed to find a dealer who explained it to me this way: BallStar used to sell two models - the 201M and the 201A. The "M" stood for Manual and the "A" stood for Automatic. The 201A looked like the current model, except that it automatically dispensed the cleaning liquid from a bottle that attached on the flat portion of the machine where the switches are. The 201M (crock pot) was discontinued, and the 201A model designation was continued, although the dispensing feature was dropped from the new version.
