Nice Comeback from Shane over Efren!

Shane made a nice comeback being down 3 games to 6 against Efren. Both players made lots of errors and it was not the greatest match but winning 5 in a row says a good deal, never give up.

I didn't like it a whole lot...Efren allowed the come-back.
A 58 year old Efren is just not the Efren that the world feared.

Is that Harriman in your avatar? Looks like him...

That was a straaaaange match. It went from VERY poor play to Shane giving up momentum to Efren. Then Shane got his gear and never gave it back.

the match prior - Johnny vs Daz, was far superior play.

On any given day.....

Yes, we saw these top guys miss some shots that they normally do not miss, shots that most of us can make. I think 8 ball on this 5 by 10 is interesting and good to watch.

I may be a little biased, but I hate to admit that Reyes looks tired. And the 10 footer is giving most everyone headaches. The announcer Ken was getting under my skin, though. Interrupting Incardona to make the same point, almost a rush to prove he knows everything, and saying the words 'humiliating' and Efren in the same sentence do not make sense to me. Shane is half his age, and he lost by TWO games. He lead at one point in the match, from a deficit. Yes, he is missing more shots than usual and not playing well in this tournament. But I think it's the announcers that are 'getting old' and losing their memory if they forget how good Efren played as early as last week in the Predator Straight Pool Tournament. And changing the shot clock rules AND magic rack (they ran out of them? and MR is a sponsor? that doesn't sound right to me...) in the middle of the tournament?
But I am really enjoying the play, and hope Corey stays focused. He looked great against Alex.

Interesting indeed. A lot of "players" don't play 8 ball. Much less on a 10 footer. It's made me rethink what a good game it can be. Seeing how these world class players executed through out, and along with very good commentary - peaked my interest. There's a ton of strategy involved. Why has it de-volved?

I do not think it has de-volved but perhaps most of the die hards are into the other games. 8 ball is the most popular game in pool and perhaps the masses would watch 8 ball in TV over 9 ball, look at those countless league players out there and recreational players who enjoy 8 ball. One thing is for sure no matter what time of day, someone somewhere is playing a game of 8 ball.
