My Olhausen Champion Pro has pretty tight, and very deep-shelved pockets that teach you to hit the center of the pocket and also develop a nice touch of "pocket speed". Sure, they're frustrating from time to time, but in the long run, I feel they make you a better player.

yeah, this is a late 60s Fischer table... i cant get over how much i love it... natural rubber on the rails and all.. i just need to afford the switch over to simonis

There's nothing better for your game than playing on an honest table. If they go in for you on this table they will go in on any table. Pockets are like women, they can never be too tight.

lol, I just noticed that 315 of your 355 posts all come from that free DVD giveaway thread. Good god man.....you posted a TON in that thing. If you don't win, at least you'll have those nice looking pockets to console you.

I'll gladly teach you what I know and help you out with your game. I've helped a handful of people really dial in their mechanics and they're all shooting a LOT better than before we started. The only catch is I'd ask you to come to Romines, if you could, since it's the only place close to my house (I've got some nerve damage to my right leg so I don't drive.) Other than that, if you pay the table time, I won't ask for anything more from you. Sound like a deal? I don't work because of my injury so I'm always available. Tuesday and Wed. nights I plan to still play leagues though.

Milwshooter... i may have to take you up on that VERY soon...

fridays work nicely for me as I am off from work... weekends are ok sometimes as well..

i would be more than happy to pay for a table to learn some! thats an AWESOME deal!

The most important lesson learned

The single most important thing I have learned about the game of pool is this....

1. Do not miss

Your opponent cannot win if he or she cannot get to the table. End of story. Doesn't matter who you are playing. Always play a safe that requires the use of more than one rail (if possible). These two things will improve your overall win percentage by leaps and bounds.

okay, let's hi-jack this thread AGAIN and get back on subject.

Who DOESN'T love deep pockets?? Not only is the playability great, but the sound they make is music to my ears.

ive got to say that i actually LOVE when it hangs and doesnt drop, or when the spit a ball back out... frustrating, but eventually it wont happen anymore ;0)

Pockets are like women, they can never be too tight.
Especially when playing one hole!
Tell me about it. Can you believe the missus actually asked me if I'd like to try the OTHER hole for a change last weekend! After 25 years of marriage!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? I don't know what's got into the woman. I was absolutely mortified.

I put a stop to that idea straight away, in NO uncertain terms I can tell you. What possessed her to even mention it in the first place is completely beyond me. She's probably been getting weird ideas from those sordid women's magazines they all read. Safe to say I don't think she'll be making that mistake again. Thanks but no thanks. Fair enough, like she said, I might like it if I tried it. I doubt it. But you never know. But who the hell wants a house full of screaming kids?

You will soon realize how wrong you are!! lol

With pockets cut the way yours are, balls will always spit back out!!

You should have the pockets facing squared up when you put the Simonis on it.

ROFL! Man, that finisher caught me good! I was rollin'! That's terrible! But it's funny!

I think your pocket would be referred to as having a deep shelf. Deep pockets sounds like the debth of the pocket itself.

Just a piece of terminology to make things clearer. Hope I don't come across as a know it all smart ass or anything.

On another note: Ain't az great!? Bringing you guys together so you can learn. Gotta love www.azbilliards.com!
