I've seen your game get it 100% right, few can say that.

I don’t mean to come off as cavalier but how is this tournament considered a major? Am I the only one that finds it unusual that the have an “8 Ball World Championship” every year, but really no other pro 8 ball events to speak of? I mean pretty much 8 ball is a game that’s relegated to league players, drinkers out socially at a bar, and couples out on date night. It’s not a discipline I’ve ever seen shortstop and above rated players ever really be interested in.

Purse was bigger than Hanoi... Players will follow the money and i'm sure they consider who's signed up for different events. They're all looking for the best opportunity/odds to get a check.

The world of pool is not restricted to the USA. In Europe they play 8 ball on the Euro Tour and at the European Championships.

There was an 8ball US Open earlier this year.
And Ultimate Pool draws some pro players as well.

I think that it’s a great game and should be part of the pro calendar and even add more 8ball events.

By the way, 10 ball is not played that much in the pro circuit so why a World 10 Ball is OK?

I don’t think I’m missing your point, I think you might be missing mine. 😁

I totally get what you’re saying about the season buildup, but my point was more about the “World Champion” label itself. The NFL, MLB, and NBA all crown “World Champions” even though none of them play teams from outside their own league. - same kind of thing here. Just found it funny how that title gets thrown around.✌️
