Thanks Ivan.I'm curious to know what you got that would push this one out.
Are these newer pics than the ones you sent me a few weeks ago?

Awesome looking cue. Kikel is known for great shafts.....
I don't understand wrap either.
Ken
Thanks Ivan.
I am actually getting a really nice DPK and a Sugartree.
So, I need to free some cash and space
I will be posting few more cues in for sale section.
Thank you Ken. Yes, indeed Dave makes great cues. All Kikel cues I tried hit great. I will post more about the wrap when I get home. It us very interesting wrap indeed. I never saw one like that before.
And it kind if hurts me to let it go but, the other cues I have....
It will hurt even more to let any of those go

I think you are making a mistake letting his cue go.....IMO (and you can see the kind of cues I keep) this is one I would keep around...
No dog in this hunt but seems like a bad move to me.

Oh.....You are right but, I need to unload some cues. This one is a true player, no questions. See, the problem with me - I only keep cues that i can play with, no investment cues. Well, yes, Dave's cues play very consistent, no question. But that goes for any GOOD cue maker. Take DPK cues - they all hit awesome or SugarTree, if you tried one, you tried them all. In my opinion, that is one of the criteria when choosing cue maker. If cues hit more or less the same.Well, if opinions are welcome, Dave makes a fine hitting cue; I've probably owned 30+ different ones in the last 20 years and another member her called his cues "The most consistent" amongst cuemakers to imply that each one plays so close to another of similar joint design.
I can attest to the fact that Dave's shaft taper is very natural for most players, his cues are well balanced and he picks great wood and many of his designs are breathtaking.
I'll also say that I've played above and by far my best pool with a DPK and at least that well with an Omega DPK.
I've never hit a ball with Eric Crisp's cues, but have heard mostly great reviews.

I could not agree more. Every Kikel I held in my hands, was a top notch workmanship, solid hit and great looking.Kikel cues are fantastic players, probably the most under-the-radar cuemaker I can think of as far as "playability" is concerned. Across the board, super-consistent shafts and fit/finish, too. Some absolute steals on the second hand market these days.

I am not really sure why Dave is so underrated in cue maker's world. I love his cues.
Very nice cue here folks...
The "double wrap" is done by using two different wrap colors simultaneously. You basically hold both threads parallel to each other and then wrap the cue like normal, allowing the two colors to lay side by side on the handle. A royal pain the butt to do as I've tried it before, hard to keep the tensions even between the two threads, etc.
I've seen this cue in person and whoever did this one was pretty experienced at it or used some type of jig.
Again..nice cue, LOVE those ferrules too!
Actually, the wraps are not twistedI have thought before about having a cue maker "twist" two wraps on at the same time. I thought that the wrap area might need to be cue slightly deeper to accommendate this.
I then always have the cuemakers tightly press the wrap flat and smooth.

Well, Dave is a great guy. I spoke with him on the phone twice. But, he is not using internet/emails etc. And I guess he does things the old way. And that is one of the reasons I hesitated to send him a cue. God forbid, something happens to him....how am I going to get my cue back? Fly over to CO? I do not think so.IMO, one thing that hurts Dave's cues is his points are inlays. Thus they do not have sharp points that a lot of folks hold so dear.
That is probably my biggest knock on Gina, (newer), JW and a lot of other cue makers.
To me the points are the deal.
Ken
Nice cue you have there
So, if you're still thinking of putting it up for sale, PM me a price.
