Nice little room in Beltsville, MD (Corner Pocket)

A colleague has been wanting to play for some time, so we decided to check out The Corner Pocket. I had been there once before, 5 or 6 years ago, but honestly had not thought much about it since.

Apparently they changed owners because this little place was not bad at all.

They had the bar nicely tucked away in the corner. I counted 12 flat screen televisions, all showing different sporting events. They even had some tables and chairs off to the side...and they had seven 9-footers.

At first glance they looked like Brunswicks but they were actually Hollywood tables, and they played very fast.

Since it's only two miles from my job I may be stopping by at lunch time...:)

Only one problem...there was no lock on the Men's Room door. They said it's to discourage illegal activity, which I found a little silly, but, it's their place.

One hour of pool at 4:00 PM on a Friday was $11.00 / hour for both of us.
Coronas were $4.00 each.

Might be a bit steep for some, but there you have it!

Thanks for the info. I'm only about a 10-minute drive from there. I think that's where my Home Depot is, on Cherry Hill Road.

You know, I never noticed this before until I looked at your avatar. Of course, I've been reading and enjoying your posts for a while.

Is this you in the middle of this group, next to Keith? On second thought, you look much younger, but I thought I'd ask. How's this for a motley crew in a Maryland pool room!

And he looks to be Philippino, I am from Trinidad.

Can you imagine traveling through Maryland looking for a little action and walking into that room and seeing that motley crew! :outtahere:

I can't remember. I'm on my laptop now, but I have the names on my desktop computer. The guy in the middle is a stakehorse from Virginia. Really nice man. The other guy on the right end is a player.

Those last 3 men to the right are the same men that came to dundalk and beat vanover,they made a great score that nite,5 to10 thou!

Two of them, I believe are stakehorses, but the one in the middle is none other than Leonardo Andam Dodong a/k/a "The Rattlesnake." :D
 
Thanks for the update man, going to have to check it out. Have to appreciate the MD guys posting updates on new rooms!
