Authorized Dealer Warranty

Great guy to deal with. When I saw another authorized McDermott Dealer selling the same cue for a lower price, I emailed Joe and he matched the same price and still included the case and other extras!
:scratchhead:

So you think it must be true that...only authorized McDermott and Predator dealers are the only sellers who can sell these cues with a warranty?

This is not true. Joe gets you sucked right in on that statement in his listings....

If you go to McDermott's website, it states clearly that if you do not buy from an authorized dealer, you do not get the benefits of the warranty. Plus, he dropped the price by $20 when I saw a cue I wanted for the same price on another site.

I usually deal with Kathy and she is terrific. Nothing wrong with Tammy but Kathy seems to tolerate me pretty well. I just ordered another OB shaft from them last Saturday, she gave it a roll check, joint check and inspection just to make sure there were no issues, and I received it Monday. She even gave a follow up call on Tuesday to make sure I got it.

rI think you might be mistaken here.

Both McDermott and Predator, as well as pretty much all the manufacturers that I know of, only warranty products sold retail through there recognized dealers.

Here's a quote from the McDermott warranty page:
"McDermott's Lifetime Warranty applies only to the original purchaser/owner of the cue and must be purchased from an authorized McDermott dealer. "

I'm glad you brought that up and this is where all the confusion is and why people shouldn't believe everything they read.

There are dealers all across America who sell for Mueller, Aurora, Q-Stix Internamtional, J&J America, and others...all who are not authorized dealers for Joss, Meucci, Predator, McDermott, and even OB Cues.

I've brought this up with Predator, McDermott, J&J and Joe Nielson of course many years ago. All said the cues that come from these private dealers are all covered under all warranties. They were actually confused at first too and after I told them, they all said my cues are covered under all warranties.

So when I order $5000 dollars worth of new cues, then resell them, the warranty is still good. It makes it real tough to compete with the big box stores this way because of the wording about warranties and the huge discounts.

This is just one of the problems with the local little mom & pop stores selling cues. We are getting to be a rare bread.

So since I am not recognized by you, are you saying all the brand new OB Cues and shafts I sell are not under warranty?

I think I need to clarify a few things. Now, I speak for OB Cues, so the others may or may not do things the same way, but I believe most manufacturers operate in a similar manner.

At OB Cues, we have different types of "Authorized Dealers".

Direct dealers are those who buy directly from OB Cues. We have their full information and purchase history. They are listed on our dealers page so customers can see that they are our direct dealers.

Network dealers are those who purchase, at wholesale, from our Distributors for the purpose of retail sale to the public. Network dealers are still "Authorized Dealers". We rely on the Distributors to inform and educate these dealers as to our sales and pricing policies. Network dealers may be listed on our website, if they contact us with the proper information. We depend on our Distributors to ensure that only qualified retail dealers are able to purchase our products for the purpose of resale. Basically, you need to be a real business. Just gathering up enough money to make a large purpose isn't enough.

Our warranty registration process is intended to allow retail buyers of our cues to inform us of their purchase and establish their warranty.

For the consumer, you should always ask for a receipt. That receipt should bear the business name of the company you are buying from, and the price and applicable sales taxes you are paying. If you can't get that, then you should start asking some questions.

I hope that clears it up a little bit. I know it seems complicated, but it really isn't that bad.

Is joerackem a member here as well?
Thanks
Yes, but I believe it may be a different user name. Like so many here, I've delt with him on numerous occasions and have never once been disappointed. He usually has the best price, not always, but usually. Given his knowledge, expertise, level of service, post purchase support & awesome packing & shipping, I go with him regardless of whether or not his price is the best. -S

I have used them multiple times and have exchanged emails with them. Great customer service, would recommend them to anyone!
