And for those control freaks and supporters of non-smoking laws, etc, YOU HAVE NO GRIPE. You've made your bed, lie in it.
And aren't these "snitches" really just law-abiding citizens doing their "duty?"
Once you've given up the property rights concept, YOU HAVE NO GRIPE WHEN IT IS USED AGAINST YOU. That's the problem with it and why I constantly harp on it here.
And that's why the NPR/political section is really integrated with the Main Forum, like it or not.

Stones said:In Texas, if you have a pool table or tables in your establishment, there must be a window on the exterior wall or door of the building from which ALL pool tables can be viewed.
This law was explained to me about 25 yrs. ago, that pool tables are looked upon as devices on which "gambling" may occur so law enforcement officials can observe the activity around the tables from the exterior of the building.
Here in San Antonio, there is a city ordinance that states you may not start a game of pool after 2:00 a.m. and before 7:00 a.m. in the morning. That's why there are no 24 hour pool rooms in SA.

pwd72s said:Stones, you seem pretty up on Texas law....does the state run gambling machines? Here in Oregon, there are video poker and video slots in nearly every bar in the state. All run by...the state of Oregon. IMHO, this is killing pool. Let's see, all hard liquor sales here are done by the state...same price for a bottle of whatever wherever you go. The state is into gambling big time. I can't wait until the state gets into prostitution and drugs. Then they'll have covered all the bases.
Follow the money...Government wants it's cut.

In my part of the state (SE) all the Texas money goes to Louisiana. I don't know how Texas horse racing tracks can continue to fill their races when purses in neighboring states are 4 to 5 times higher due to slot machine proceeds. It seems every year a bill is introduced and goes nowhere. Texas always lags behind, to the delight of neighboring states.
