Another package lost going to China . After the fact Everyone has all kinds of , why didn't you do this or why didn't you do that , I shipped priority express , cost $24.00 to ship a set of J/Ps to China and the MF is lost .

I'll NEVER Happen again . Jim

Latest Parcel Did get delivered Today . Its not worth the pressure , that's for sure .

Can't blame you one bit. Anything with value and I veer far away from USPS.
 
I had this problem with Brazil a few years ago when I was selling stuff on fleabay, I stopped shipping out the conus after that, too much agravation.:mad:

Don't blame the post office...once it leave usa its not in there hands...call china post. Use ups or fedx which have there own employees handling these packages in all countries ..but its going to cost you. Sorry for your loss Jim...Does it track to China and disappear or what...customs can be for ever in some of these countries. And other countries don't have secure postal operations like usps..

Shows leaving Los Angeles , and disappears , just like the last set of j/ps I sent to china .

I sent a $600. cue and it made it O.K. But I don't think I will ever take the chance again .

If the customer wants to pay Other than Paypal , and accept the responcibility for the Loss , then I might do it again , but I will not be responsible for building more , and takeing the chance of them getting lost again , or have the customer say " I did not get it " and paypal will but there arm getting them there money back . The seller has no rights .

Actually, it probably wasn't USPS. Probably happened in China. I say this from experience of shipping car parts and special tools to a dear friend in Istanbul. USPS tracking and insurance only guarantees that the item will get to the country being shipped to. After that, it's out of their hands.

My friend & I now wait until he or a friend is taking a trip to the USA...I then ship to where he will be staying.

That said, I don't bame Jim for deciding to not ship overseas. It's become a real PITA.
 
I did not say I would not ship OverSeas . I have no big problems with anywhere but Asia .

A lot of good people there, but there Postal system Suck . Jim

I don't have much experience with shipping or mailing valuables, so my question is ....don't they offer insurance?

That's what I was referring to. Owed, lost, it's all the same. :smile:
 
Anything Insured thru the P,O. and lost . It take Min 6 months to recoup you loss IF you can prove the value . But going to China , ???? I don't think there is any help .
 
For $24 in shipping USPS didn't provide any EMS tracking? I'm very surprised. How much was DHL or FedEx? Also did the buyer provide you the shipping address in English and Chinese?

For $24.95 the P.O. give you nothing except tracking while its in the U.S. Once it leaves U.S. there is no tracking . If it is delivered and scaned properly , it will show delivered . That's All . Jim
 
I own a BBQ supply company and do not send outside of the CONUS for that reason.

UPS wants a new born babies leg to send anything international and USPS wont track it. The PO rep even told me once that they deny almost all insurance claims on international orders no matter what.

Recently I did take the chance and sent a package to Australia. I was about a 70 buck order and UPS wanted 110 to ship. I shipped UPS and it got there 4 days later which shocked me and the customer. I did a little background on the customer though before sending and I think if the vetting had not been so positive then I would not have tried.

Yeah I know. In certain areas of the city that I live in you can say the same thing and they don't even work for Canada Post.
Unfortunately I know this from driving a taxi.

Then to my great happiness, they barred taxis from these certain areas. Get caught cruising there with a customer and your car gets impounded.
I used to tell customers, "I will park, you go for a walk and I will wait for you with the meter running". This usually kept 99% of them away.

Hi Jim,

One thing I thought I would mention, China is in the middle of a national holiday right now. I think the official start date was today I believe, but I know many of the factories and businesses I deal with shut down as of last Friday and aren't opening until this coming Monday the 7th. The thing about China, you'd be surprised how many of these places will literally shut down. If the USPS has contracted some 3rd party carrier to deliver this thing, there is a chance they may be simply shut down right now and you won't see any scan activity until next week.

Not sure what time frame your package got there or anything, but that is something to consider. I'm also not sure if that's even the case with your package, just an idea. Also, someone mentioned Customs... China customs can be VERY slow at times. I've had some packages I shipped by FedEx get held up for almost 2 weeks before for customs, which shows up on FedEx tracking, but I'm not sure if it would on USPS.

With that said, this is the very reason I only ship to the USA now. I'm very hesitant to even ship to Canada now a days. I hate it for overseas and other International customers, but it is what it is :(

Sold some small internal parts for 1911-style pistols to a buyer in Brazil.
They made it through Customs then vanished into thin air.
I no longer sell to or ship to foreign buyers.

I have no idea as to why you would add Canada to your list.

I add a tracking number from the US to the Canada Post site and it tells you when it was released from Canada Customs to the delivery date.

Never seen it done differently.
 
Two things;

1. Didn't the OP say the exact same thing about a month ago?
2. The overwhelming majority of rip offs, scams and bad deals posted on this site come from US sellers and buyers.

Don't quit all together. What I do now is if I get a China request. I tell them I don't ship to China but I will send to a US address if they have someone who can forward the package to them. I would say about 1 in 2 says "great" and sends me a US address to ship to, some friend or relative. It is better then losing all the sales.
