Bernie..... Could it just possibly maybe sorta kinda be because he had a life threatening experience a couple of years ago. It was documented here and in all the magazines...Just kinda maybe sorta, he has just mellowed out a bit since then. and has decided to not let stress get to him anymore.

Bernie.... please, before you make posts like this about people it just might maybe kinda help if you did a little research on the subject that you are posting about. i know that i have had 3 heart attacks in the past and boy did they change my life's out look........................mike

Bernie, get a grip on yourself.

Nick may be less animated than some of his contemporaries, but he is a very personable guy if you get to know him and has a stylish way about him. He is also an inspiration, having come back from serious health ailments to resume his playing career. Take a closer look and I think you'll realize that Nick Varner is anything but bland.

On a closing note, Bernie, it's time for you to stop suggesting that you know all the players very well and posing as an authority on them. Those you met in IPT circles qualify as players you just met. In contrast, there are over 20 IPT player members that I've known for over 25 years. I know I'm one of many on this forum that have longstanding friendships with many of the top pros, and I suspect many of the others feel as I do.

BERNIE...maybe he didn't feel like he needed to impress or entertain anyone.

As another poster indicated serious illness can effect how we live our lives in addition to our personalities. I'm glad NICK is still with us and is able to compete at pool's highest levels.

Bernie, just about everyone on this forum (and perhaps everyone who's met you) prefers or would prefer Nick Varner's personality to yours.

It's Only An Opinion....... imo

Or even Jimmy Hoffa's.... (current or past personality)

Bernie, How does this thread pertain to the IPT?

Despite your comment, Nick Varner has contributed a lot to the game of pool.

As the baby in Meet the Fockers would say, "A$$H0!E" that's the word I would use to sum up your personality, Bernie. You have got some balls to say that about Nick. Who made you the all mighty judge. Did you ever think, just maybe he didn't want to converse with you in the first place? Hmm.. I wonder why that might be?

No Persoanality ???????

Bernie........in my limited exposure to your personality as opposed to the personality of Nick Varner I prefer Nick. I addition, unlike yourself, Nick can probably spell personality. I agree with PoolSharkAllen. Your post probably belongs in the "People with a better personality than myself" thread.
Regards, Roger

I am mean, so I'll just say at least the man can play pool at a high level, unlike the originator of this useless thread.

forget about playing ability, forget about heart attack, there are some people who are wet noodles, another one is dennis occorulo, this guy ,well let me tell ya, all i'm saying is this, lacking, that's all lacking.
there needs to be star power,in pool, for instance nick varner was approached to do a huge documentry on pool, the director said "you are one of the most inspirational players that ever lived, i would love to have you in my documentry which will be released around the world, for pool fans and others alike what do you say? and nick just stood there chewing like a cow,and didn't even give him an answer, then the director said, well if you just want to come onto the set, meet me tonight, and he gave him the location and again in leaving the director said it would be my honor for you just to show up, again(chewing like a cow,no anser) nick never showed, that says a lot about nick, this director is giving him respect god like comments, compliments what have you, and he chews gum back in his face, doesn't even show up on the shoot!,this was a slap in the face of pool! say what you will, but that was a slap in the face of pool.

Maybe the MODS should do something about this junk thread, maybe not.

One thing is for sure though. Bernie, you're outta line.

Nick was up here a few weeks ago doing an exhibition as the University of Akron. I got to play pool with him the day before I left for the Viking Tour in Atlanta. I would have to say Bernie that you are full of some cockadoodeepoopee. I had a blast with Nick. We played some serious pool, but at the same time, joked and had fun the entire nite. Nick has a great personality. I just believe you didn't get a chance to see it because Nick was around you.

Dennis is also fun to hang around with. Corey and I were having a good time with him in Reno. I believe you are the problem Bernie.

Of all the years I've hung out with Corey, I've never seen him not sign an autograph for someone. When you approached him in Reno, trying to impress the girls from the Cancer seminar next door, telling them that you were best friends with all the top players and could get his autograph for them. I thought it was strange that Corey refussed to sign an autograph for you. Then when you came back to the girls and told them that Corey was being an ass, I overheard and stepped in and told them it was because of you and I would get Corey to sign the program for them. Shocking to you, Corey signed it without a problem, and I gave it to the girls and told them that it was because of you that Corey would't sign it. I thought that was funny, because right before you asked him, I overheard you telling the girls that you and Corey were good friends.

Please remove Corey from your top pool players friends list. I've never seen him dislike someone as much as you. Even though I'm not a top player, put me on there as well. And you can trust me, with the top players, the list is much longer than just Corey, as to the players that dislike you. AMC

Nick, not only has a great personality, but is also a very smart man. I'm sure if you and some guy approached him about doing a documentry, he must of smelled the Cigar infested B.S. reeking from your mouths.

Perfect response. Some people do not require other people's approval, IMHO.

is there anyway i could block this bernie guy from posts or threads.
YOU ARE THE WEIRD ONE BERNIE,i cant beleive the stuff you say.WOW
you are whacked!!!!!!!!

Speaking of Corey D. Of all the pros I've asked for autographs (just about all of them), none has been friendlier and more accommodating than Corey D.

I've gotten his sig twice, once at Breaker's a year and a half ago south of Houston, and at the Orlando IPT event. Both times he stopped what he was doing, happily signed, and even gave a little small talk.

Corey has earned a fan in me not only through his ability at the table, but moreso through his display of appreciation for us fans.

That was a low blow

I have promised myself not ever to make personal attacks on this forum, trying to stay constructive and just discuss or comment the issues which are being brought up, but I have to say:

Bernie, you are making it very hard for me to keep that promise.

lol, well put!

the problem i have with this thread, is even if bernie is right and nick is as boring as a plank, there's absolutely no need to shout it from the rooftops. whats the point? it's just nasty and uncalled for. it also enforces many people's views that you are the one with the personality problem, not a living legend like nick varner.

and while we're on the subject of nick varner, am i the only one who sees the striking resemblance to gene wilder - the original willy wonka in charlie and the chocolate factory? :D

Amc,

great post! I agree with everything you said. It is nice to know there are many others out there that dislike Bernard as much as I do. Poor Bernard doesn't realize the intense dislike that most people have toward him. Some people just try to be polite and run the other way, some people just ignore Bernard as if he wasn't there, some people just can't believe one person could be so deluded and incorrect about everything they say...

Bernard Fiend does not have many friends in NY or NC or the world and I just don't think he understands that factoid.
