Non-Paying High Bidder -Phillippi Ebay $1300

The winning bidder does not want my Phillippi because it doesn't have an ivory joint.I told him that he could clearly se that it was a steel joint in the pictures, and then he goes oh well I'm sorry I can't buy the cue.....I offered a second chance to the second bidder at $1,280...and he tried low balling me at $1,100....Get it now for $1300 including shipping....that is less than half the original price..winning bid on ebay was $1,305...

Nice looking Phillipi, but just to clarify:

A buyer on Ebay can have it for $1,280.00, then you'd absorb the Ebay fees for a net sale of about $1,210.00

OR an AZer can buy it for $1400.00?

Well, OK! Thanks for the offer! :D

The guy that bid $1,280 said he bought two other cues that day and could only offer me $1,100...This cue is way to nice not to sell for $1400...It's worth three times that...

It's virtually the same price as the high bidder...if you add shipping...and what I lost on ebay Mr.Rhett

Hey Player!
I wasn't raggin' on you - really! But the buyers on AZ are always look for a deal, which tends to be less than Ebay, not more.

Plus, you'll get your FNV back from Ebay, as long as your file a NPB. So the most you can lose is your listing fee, not the selling/Final Value Fee.

Finally, a buyer here isn't expected to make up for your Ebay losses. You really would have netted right at $1210 on Ebay. After all, you already agreed to sell it for that, right?? If you want these guys to take you serious, You should offer that price to an AZer, plus shipping. And shipping ain't $190.00!!

JMO! ICBW!

Good Luck!

Additionally, I rarely see a high-end cue on eBay that doesn't get mentioned here.. doubtful you will find a buyer here that didn't already pass on eBay.. I could be wrong, just my 2cents..

You people are insane....Phillippi cues are one of the best hitting cues out there....and this is a $2,800 cue for $1,300....I had plenty of messages on ebay from people saying oh great price blah blah blah....point is...yall don't know a great deal when you see one...you'd much rather steal it than buy it...

Sorry man, it does seem like an amazing deal.. I wasn't trying to say otherwise. You more than deserve that price, especially after such a raw deal on the bay.. that place does sucketh sometimes.

Welcome to the custom cue market in 2007. An actual market for only half to a dozen makers but the rest become your burial scepters !! The people who have been dealing cues for a long time feel your pain.....we really do. :( Lots of great prices around but NO BUYERS....only thieves.

rack'em zach'em, I heard you did the same thing on ebay once with a Gilbert cue.

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, not 3 times what someone is willing to pay for it!!!!!!!!

Not entirely true.......there have been some higher end cues sold here lately. I personally have spent over $5,000.00 on cues in the last month.

Russ.......

Yeah it Sucks Buying a cue and loosing your job on the same day

There was nothing I could do...

Sure those were probably in the 6-12 cuemakers whose stuff is desirable. No Phillippis, though, right ??

I think I'd take the $1100 and call it a day the way the market is right now JMO. I've been dumping some lower end stuff losing some money and then buying only the cream of the crop. Hopefully it will pay dividends down the road.

I am sorry, but the market is soft, and it's even softer when it comes to Phillipi cues. I also would take the 1100 and run. But if you can afford to wait a year or two until this economy possibly picks back up, then you can just keep it for a while. Otherwise, the cue is only worth what someone will pay for it.

I also agree with Hal, some of your own karma is coming back upon you.

$1100 for the Phillipi seems like pretty good money.his cues really don't hold their value from retail.

Many of the posts that you have made lately have given us a really good glimpse as to the type of person you are. With that being said, I wouldn't expect many offers on your cues or your action. Think about it, you have came off pretty obnoxious lately. JMHO
