North Carolina Pool Rooms

In just over a week I am going to be traveling to Cary N.C. For a week visit and was wondering what some of the better rooms around that area are to play? Any rooms in the traingle area or close will be fine.
Mainly looking for places with 9 ft's and well maintained.

Thanks in advance

Rob

"Best little room in NC"

Country Retreat Family Billiards, Foscoe, NC, near Boone, near the high country. Chris Aldridge is the owner and also a very good player. I believe he has Gabriel tables and he keeps them in pristine condition. I highly recommend this great room.

Great equipment and reasonable prices?

What a concept!

Tell the owner to open a room in Northern Cal, we're dying for a place like that.

The new place that opened here wants $12/hour to play on Olhausens even if its only one player. Town of less than 100K people- this aint Manhattan.

If you want to travel an hour for GC4's and Diamond (9ft), come over to Breakers in Greensboro. Great atmosphere and nice tables.. one with very tight pockets that Earl always gets on when he's home. Only negative comment I could make is the new bartender.. she spends more time at the jukebox than she does emptying ash trays.. oh wait, she never empties ash trays.. the last two guys were SO much better.

Babineau's has decent tables and excellent shooters. 919.467.5411

Thanks for the replies. I have been to Babineau's once the last time I was there visiting. Nice place. Will Definetly go back. Any way to know what the best times to go there are. I would like to go there when a lot of people are there. Will be down there the 3rd through the 10th of Feburary.

Thanks

Rob

Babineau's has a large league contingent on Mondays through Thursdays, so if you want to be there when there are lots of people, those are the nights to go.

Here are other rooms in the Triangle area:

Brown's
Brass Tap
Snookers
Hot Shots
On The Snap
Pantana's
Mojo's
Oscar's

Babineau's is my favorite place to play (although I haven't been playing lately and won't be playing again for another couple of months), but it is tough to get a table on certain nights. If you give Paul a call (919.467.5411) before you arrive, he generally is willing to work with AZ'ers to reserve a table and perhaps even a playing partner.

If you feel like driving a couple of hours, Grady's is having three tournaments February 8th through the 10th. 9-ball bar box tournament on the 8th. One pocket on the 9 footers on the 9th. Banks on the 9 footers on the 10th. He has all diamond tables kept in great condition. His pool hall is on the border of Columbia, SC.

great room! I stopped in one time- saw listing as"upscale room". i figured that means "upscale $". NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT PRICES. NO CONNECTION whatever with them. gabriel tables that replaced the fine connelly's are great.
