Nothing has been restored!

Beautiful table, but shouldn't the pocket liners be dark grey, not black??
The original pockets are with the table, but have slight scratches on them, so new ones were installed, but the new owner can still install the originals if wanted.

RealCobraKing,

There are tons of these tables out there..I was just wondering if anyone had the numbers of each model produced.

This one sure is a dandy. Another one that makes you wish it could talk.

Ken
Brunswick never serial numbered their tables as to when they were actually produced, only the years they were built.

Glen,

Perhaps you can help me with a question. I have thought for 37 years that I have owned my GC1 table that the nameplate in a GC1 is the plastic version, and the GC2 and later went to metal nameplates.

Was this changed, or am I wrong? If I am wrong, can you elaborate?

Thanks.

Will
That's kind of a hard question to answer, because of half year tables. As Brunswick switched from GC1's to 2's, there were a lot of 2's that still had things left over from the 1's. 1's came with Monarch cushions, but some of the early 2's still had Monarch cushions as well, before the Super Speed cushions replaced them. Some of the 1's had adjustable leg levelers, but were actually early model 2's. Late model 1's had floating nut plates, though 1's actually started out with a flat plate screwed to the bottom of the rails. Up in Washington state, I moved and set up a GC3 for a guy, that had GC2 pocket castings and irons, which was before Brunswick switched all the way to the inserts used to mount the GC3 pocket castings. So, to answer your question, GC1's had both, plastic and metal name plates, but I believe they started with metal first, then switched to plastic later, mid way through the production, but don't quote me on that, as I just fix tables, I'm not a historian...LOL

Glen,

Your response is very much appreciated. I hadn`t thought about the crossover issue with some parts blending between GC1 and GC2.

My question I have had for years is now answered! This same thing happened with Corvettes also with year-to-year changeovers.

I guess, like everyone else, Brunswick wanted to use up "what was available and already paid for" before moving on to the next model. It is too bad they don't use TIN (vs VIN) numbers (T=Table) -- Barrett Jackson could expand his auctions:). I wonder if Johnny Cash was playing in the background during assembly .

If that table were a 4.5' x 9', I would buy it!!!

I could be wrong Glen but I don't think he meant serial #'s. I think he meant how many of each model were produced, at least that's the way I read it.

Awesome find King . . .

That is beyond mint . . . It looks like "NEW" . . . 50 years old and looks like new . . . insane!

Here's my Sport King . . . its a '59 or '60 best I can tell . . . 8 1/2 Sport size identical to the one Mosconi did the "run" on in Ohio, but mine was missing the side aprons so I fabricated out of red oak.

It was also missing the corner "cans" (wrap around in stainless) . . . another forumite that is great on parts is Ken Hash . . . huge inventory of the vintage Brunswick stuff.

Anyone who gets that table is getting an incredible piece of history for the condition . . . that thing ought to go to the Smithsonian or you should sell it to Brunswick for their friggin' lobby . . . even they probably don't have a GC1 lookin' like that.

Awesome!

(Psssst. Wanna trade tables?)

My table is shown here:

If they had serial numbers, you'd be able to tell not only how many were built, but about when they were built as well;) but then...you'd know just how many tables Brunswick sold...

Glen

I know this adds nothing to the conversation, but for what it`s worth, my GC1 table was made July 25, 1962. The date occurs more than one place in the substructure under the slates.

This doesn`t help at all in terms of how many of each were made, but if you own one you can at least know when yours was made.

Simply FYI,

Will
