This is what he originally posted in stating that he knew for a FACT re: the circumstances under which LJJ got the MS match.

Of course, the Dude is UTTERLY WRONG about that as sjm...who the Dude himself testified KNOWS the truth...posted. According to sjm...who I have no reason to doubt and assume is a GREAT guy...LJJ relinquished here WPBA membership LONG...LONG before the MS match was ever discussed...or possibly even THOUGHT OF...let alone offered to her!

So, the Dude TOTALLY BLEW that one...but I suspect isn't MAN enough to admit that he was wrong.

And let the record show that when I came to realize that my original assertion the MS "ducked" AF was not correct, I posted an Open Apology to the Dude on this forum.

Now, according the Dude's own assertion that sjm's views are FACTUAL...Dude is proven WRONG but I guess he will either dance around the issue or not have the guts to respond at all.

I could be wrong on that. It is just a GUESS...but Dude has stated REPEATEDLY that he wasn't going to comment on this issue EVER AGAIN but of course, he lied about that...so it's hard to tell what he might or might not do on this issue.

He probably feels a LOT more comfortable hiding behine his "ingore button."

Having said all that...I STILL commend Dude, as I have repeatedly, for the actions that he seems to be taking regarding protecting the player's interests.

I am a sponsor and got burned for quite a few thousands of dollars too and happen to be dear friends with more than one World Champion who have been burned too. So all this is VERY much my business.

It is not Dude's genuine concerns for the players that cause me to be "high strung" but his bitter, arrogant and condescending attitude regarding not only ME but the VAST majority of posters to this board...who are the FANS...that Dude has so grossly disrespected.

He holds himself out as being Thorsten's best friend which I find somewhat surprising since TH seems to be such a gentleman. I can't imagine him going BALLISTIC like the Dude over such relatively minor issues as whether MS ducked AF or the circumstances regarding LJJ getting the match.

Those issues are AT BEST...minor footnotes in pool history but the Dude goes APE over them...cusses like a drunken sailor...as he has others...tells us that he has no time for us lowely FANS...LIES about not posting again on the subject and calls me a FRAUD.

If he said he was STRICKLAND's best friend...that would make some sense because they both CLEARLY need to adjust their medications!

1. Dude stated...point blank...that LJJ quit the WPBA in order the do the MS match. SJM on the other hand entirely refutes that and states that she relinquished her membership as far back as 2204. So, Dude was just FLAT wrong. Get someone to read that part of the thread to you...so you'll understand it.

2. Dude said that the WPBA forbid AF to play. That is WRONG...they never granted their permission and there was a lot of back and forth....between long periods of SILENCE on the matter...but not saying YES does not mean that they said NO...Again, get someone with a little higher IQ than you seem to have to explain that to you.

Jim...Yes i do read replies. I do not know RG personally nor do i know you. But it just seems to me that all this bickering and infighting is just getting totally out of control. Not just between you and RG, but it seems like the whole board is fighting constantly. I use to consider it fun to come on the boards and read what is going on in the pool world. Let me ask you this. Does it really matter who is right and who is wrong anymore. Why beat the topic to death. I have not lost interest in anything. Why can't both you and RG agree to just disagree and stop all the name calling and bitterness.............mike
 
That's what I like best, the name calling and hypocrisy, it's very entertaining. In the midst of all the bickering there is quite a bit to learn, one being: you can't win an argument on the internet.

Well, I 'was' leaning in favor of one side over the other, but there's been SO much written, quoted and said, that l've completely lost track and no longer care who's right or wrong.....

Yeah, with the way things were quoted makes it extremely hard to follow. Then throw in multiple threads and voila!! No more readers.

ie. The use of the word forbid - rather than using a phrase like denied consent or gave no consent.

The emotional response seems to be more a conflict of personalities, than one based on a serious point of argument.

Maybe I'm missing the point of Av84fun's argument. And if I am, I'm sure others are, and so it's only counter productive to keep bringing it up.

Im not sure of the facts as to why LJJ played Sigel instead of AF, but I think AF would have won IF she had played him. JMO.

I agree that she would have had a GOOD chance of doing so. She drilled Feijen and no disprespect to MS but he has shown clearly in the events where he had to compete with everyone else, that he is not NOW (at least) in top competitive form.

I admire your "voice of reason." Possibly you could direct that post to Randy...and you could also acknowledge that he didn't refer to you as a fraud.

In any event, I have completed any initiation of posts on this matter but I will reserve judgment on whether to respond to any further posts.

With GREAT respect Colin...and I LOVE your web site...the issue is FAR more than one of sematics. The first phrase you mentioned, "denied consent" is synonymous with "forbid" so there are no semantics there. The second phrase you mentioned has an entirely DIFFERENT meaning relative to the word "forbid" which means...

2 : to hinder or prevent as if by an effectual command>>

As you can see, in both definitions...ACTION must be taken in the form of a "command"...just as action is required to "deny consent."

Therefore, as I stated...failing to say YES...while an issue is under consideration is NOT a command or any other type of affirmative action required by the word FORBID...which is what Randy stated. Nor did the WPBA ever "deny consent." The just didn't PROVIDE consent during the time they were CONSIDERING what to do...and there is a HUGE difference

For the WPBA to have FORBID her to compete, they would have had to have told her POINT BLANK...YOU MAY NOT PLAY...PERIOD. That NEVER happened but Randy said it DID happen and it would just be "dancing around the truth for him...or anyone else...to try to save the day by imputing a different meaning to the exact word he used.

In addition, as sjm pointed out with GREAT authority...Dude's SPECIFIC STATEMENT...accompanied by a barrage of insults to me...that LJJ QUIT the WPBA specifically so she could play the match with MS...was just utterly wrong.

I hope this clears up any misconceptions about my points which are...that on those two points, he was quite simply incorrect and is demeaned in THAT context...and none other necessarily...for his belligerence and refusal to "own up" when he is so clearly wrong!

Think what you wish about me but the RECORD shows that I owned up...voluntarily...re: my presumption that MS ducked AF.

But I prefer "winning" based on the input from sjm...regarding the LJJ matter which renders the Dude's version as totally out to lunch.

I DO NOT imply that sjm has taken any sides in this matter. Clearly he has not. But his remarks, compared to the Dude's on that matter speak for themselves.

However, as I have stated repeatedly and as I now suggest should be imbedded in ALL my posts relating to Randy, so I don't have to repeat them every time...I have nothing but respect and admiration for what he seems to be doing to obtain justice for the players.

Where he and I part company is on our version of certain events and on his irrefutably arrogant and condescenging MANNER of expressing himself.
