This is a bit silly, but I could not help but notice how much saying OB-1 sounds like Obiwan. It makes you wonder if the origin of the name did not have anything to do with that.
I always assumed this connection was intended. You know, like a light saber, or you gain the ability to use the force. The force greatly reduces deflection, although there hasn't been a test to prove this yet...
KMRUNOUT
I'm sure Royce will chime in, but I'll provide somewhat of an answer.
The name of the company is OB cues.
O is for Owen, B is for Bunnell -1 is because it was the first one.
(note that the next one was OB-2)

You got it Mike!
Don and Anita Owen are business partners with my wife, Mary, and I.
The Actual name of the company is Owen-Bunnell, Inc. but we have a DBA for OB Cues.
Mike does have an inside scoop. He's been selling our products for quite some time.
No, just a coincidence.
Actually, when we first wrote down the letters OBI, short for Owen-Bunnell Inc. it looked like OB1 and we laughed about it. After thinking about it, we liked it for the first shaft because it was our first product.
The only issue I have with it now is that many people think of us as OB-1 cues, which isn't really correct. But that will change with time I guess. LOL
