OB CF Pad & Kamui Clear Tip Question

The CF pad popped off my OB-2 shaft & I thought...hmm, maybe I can just put a "Kamui Clear" on without the CF pad.

Is it necessary to have a plastic/CF pad under the plastic pad on that tip? Seems kind of redundant...

Yes, you do still need it.

The clear pad does not have the tensile strength that the Carbon Fiber pad does.

I am not quite sure I understood the statement but I think I get the point of it. I am only referring to people on here. I have seen someone say its not needed, only to see OB say it is in the next post.

The CF pads are there for a reason. Any good repairman will know and won't take it off and replace it if it's missing I would think.

I was just saying that a repairman that has experience with OB shafts will know that it needs to be replaced.

I wont install a tip on an OB shaft without one. That's why i keep 20 of them in stock.
