Hi I wanted to know what glue does Ob1 use for its tip.... cause I have been using loctite and the tip keeps falling.... any other suggestions....

Thanks
Vijesh

You might want to review your methods, I've used loctite superglue gel on every OB1 I've ever tipped, and never had one come off.

What kind of tip are you trying to glue?...JER

Might have something to do with preparing the fibre pad. Check the OB-1 website for installation instructions.

I have tried using a non layered tip..... tirangle and le pro.....The web site instructions are cler... what happened is that the pad came off with the tip and I have been trying to stick the tip aswell..

I don't know how others do it, but I rough up the pad on one side, then glue the tip to the pad. After the glue( DURO QUICK GEL), sets up I sand the pad & then glue it to the ferrule. Remember to only use enough force to HOLD the tip to the ferrule. Otherwise you could be pressing all of the glue out of the sides...JER

CARBON pad

Vijesh,

If you are replacing the pad, you might want to wet the tip end of the shaft with thin CA, and then face it off flat. Wetting with the thin CA will give you a clean surface after facing so that you get a good flat surface.

Also, the pad is not a vulcanized fiber pad that is currently available through most suppliers. The pad is actually CARBON FIBER! Call us if you need to get some, they are pretty cheap.

If you still have problems, just call me during regular business hours and I can talk you through it.
