But I'd still rather play pool for a living!

Just not good enough.

My wife just had her 20th high school reunion this weekend. It was a 3-day affair, with cocktails on Friday, formal dinner/dance on Saturday, and a picnic on Sunday. My older daughter came with us, and I cautioned her that people would ask strange questions that she might not have a good answer. Like, "what do you want to be when you are out of school?"

Standard answer: I want to fix pinball machines, just like my dad.

Fred <~~~ always wanted to fix pinball machines

I am a Health, Safety, & Environmental Team leader for an oilfield service company. I cover everything in North America east of the Rocky Mountains, and get to travel quite a bit. Helps when looking for cues like I do. Wish it were flopped the other way, but the cue stuff doesn't generate enough capital to take care of a wife and 4 children!

The now repentant former delinquent JoeyA used to revel at fixing the pinball machine by pouring Barq's root beer down into the glass of the 25 hole gambling pinball machines at Al's Pool Hall here in Louisiana. The pinball machine would often sit there and have a hissie moving the odds across the board without putting any additional money into it. A high win of 300 games produced $15 u.s. dollars back in 1968. (nickel a game for those in Rio Lindo). This was all before he learned how to beat them without cheating. ;-)
JoeyA (mea Culpa, Al)
P.S. Ask someone from Jackson, MS what JoeyA's nickname is. :-)
