Whats your occupation?
Director of Finance for Fortune 100 company. Unfortunately, right now the job is taking up way too much of my time that I should be dedicating to pool. However, it does pay me much better... :p

I work in the Shipping department at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana. We make the Tundra pickup, Sequoia SUV and Sienna minivan.

Nursing student (I'm an LPN but will be an RN in 7 weeks!!)
I am very interested in psych nursing....must be why I enjoy hanging out here :D

I work in the Insitutional Equities Division of a major investment bank. I do strategic planning for major systems development in portfolio accounting for hedge funds. Guess that makes me a bit of a geek, but one day I hope to recover!
HUH?!?!?!?

j/k, sjm. You got the nuts even when describing your job! :p :D

I own & operate a small well equipped cabinet shop where we build & install medium to high end cabinetry of all types, including kitchen, bath, family room, bedroom, etc. We also build & install closet systems, folding shelf doors and Fabricate Corian countertops, whirlpool surrounds and back-lit columns.

Whats your occupation? Pool players represent a large cross section of America. All walks of life from prominatant sports figures, to dentists, to construction workers... the list goes on and on. In our league we have a Lawyer, a Dentist, a Grave digger, a Chimney sweep, a engineer, and an Elevator mechanic to name a few. The last one represents myself.

I troubleshoot problems when the elevators don't work right. I provide maintainance on a scheduled basis. Perform safety tests to ensure they run as per code. Perform repairs when the elevators are really "Broke but good."
I am also "On Call' one day a week and one weekend a month.

I'm curious to see what everyone else does to pay the bills.

I gave up a "prestigious" **hack, gag, hack** job as a project manager in an OEM machinery house, specializing in plastic extrusion. (Extrusion / compounding issues, call me) So I parlayed all my cue money, my little 401k bankroll into my own home improvement business. I am excited and love the work. But since I am stating this from ZERO, my time is taken up and probably will be for another 6-8 mos before its stabilized enough for me to ease up on my all around duties.

Are you retired now? In the early part of my career we had union crane operators placing the elevator hoist machines down on thier bedplates in construction. Now I mostly troubleshoot with a meter and a laptop computer! I found it's easier to use my mind instead of my back. Solid State troubleshooting with a computer, it's funny how other mechanics can't even use a computer! Sorta makes me a valued man I guess.

I haven't run a crane in over 30 years. I don't know if I am still in the union or not, I got a withdrawel card way back and may still be a member for all I know.

The house I live in now was built in the 1920's and although a pretty nice house I think a good hurricane would wreck it, it's very stressful. It is a worry every year and here we go again right now, tomorrow the shutters go up.

Good luck - hope it all goes well for you.

We are on the east coast so It should not be as bad. But you never know. I can't take it any more, I'm really tired of it. The new house will be indistructable.

Busta means envelope. A busterella is small envelope with a cash bribe in it. (I've been to Italy a couple times :))

35 and retired? Hmmm. More like 35, unemployed, & harassing people from a computer at the public library. Get a life.

If any women have a job offer like this without the kids part, I'm willing to quit and relocate to a warm climate. I want to do the best possible job and I do better golfing/fishing in warm weather. Oh and I already have the golf clubs, fishing gear and cue so I'm all ready to work right away, but I wouldn't mind some new ones. OK I'm willing to try to have kids, I'll try and try over and over but no promises, just know that I'm persistent and will work on that part every single day:D Oh I will need an advance, I have to tie up some loose tub.. ahh err ends first. lol

Actually, I knew someone in the same situation, I really thought he had his hands full with the kids, didn't look that easy to me and the big problem was when the kids got older and able to care for themselves, she made him get a job. He was shocked into reality:D should have spaced those kids out a few years I told him:D

I know I can't be the only Coleopterist here!
I'm also managing editor of a scientific journal which seems like a second full-time job!

Hate My JOB!!

I am a Network Analyst 4. I work 3 12hr days a week wed thrus and friday! its really boring nothing ever happens and if something does happen I am only in charge of resolving it. But I dont actually do the work others do. I just got a 86 mazda truck that I am fixing up so I usually bring stuff into work and fix it here. I built a custom dash to hold all the new auto meter gauges and I installed it at work in the garage!! I surf the net or read pool and mini truckin magazines!! I use to do cue repair but got bored with it. Right now me an a buddy are working on developnig a new pool league we are working on the website now. I will let you all know about it when we launch it! Yeah dont worry about the handicaps I have worked and worked on a formula (mostly at work) that it will be very hard for a person to cheat on thier average if they do they will have more losses and lose money so it will not be worth it to sandbag! But you can read more about it when we get the site up.
