I have been in the Air Force for 5 years and work in Military Intelligence doing communication support. My shop has an unclassified, secret, top secret, and gamma network that I support. I am getting out of the military July of next year and plan on moving to Austin and getting an IT job. I am also considering going back to Iraq as a civilian contractor.

Myself, retired gunslinger.

I'm supposed to be a software developer, but apparently I'm a professional azbilliards.com forum poster.

Is it a coincidence that most pool players on here have technical minds?

I was just thinking the same thing! I am sort of amazed, but at the same time not relly surprised when you look at the game we all love to play.

Retired from Federal Service (last month..Walter Reed)
now...just pool stuff....

I'm an accountant for a large 'stored energy solutions' (read: industrial batteries) company in Reading, PA. Man, working sure detracts from the pool game!

Whats your occupation? Pool players represent a large cross section of America. All walks of life from prominatant sports figures, to dentists, to construction workers... the list goes on and on. In our league we have a Lawyer, a Dentist, a Grave digger, a Chimney sweep, a engineer, and an Elevator mechanic to name a few. The last one represents myself.

I troubleshoot problems when the elevators don't work right. I provide maintainance on a scheduled basis. Perform safety tests to ensure they run as per code. Perform repairs when the elevators are really "Broke but good."
I am also "On Call' one day a week and one weekend a month.

I'm curious to see what everyone else does to pay the bills.

The last real job I held was in 1973 as a union crane operator.

Are you retired now? In the early part of my career we had union crane operators placing the elevator hoist machines down on thier bedplates in construction. Now I mostly troubleshoot with a meter and a laptop computer! I found it's easier to use my mind instead of my back. Solid State troubleshooting with a computer, it's funny how other mechanics can't even use a computer! Sorta makes me a valued man I guess.

The company I work for is EnerSys. I only moved to PA about a year ago, so I am not really familiar with the area. Phoenixville is near Frazer, right? Anyway, I have not heard of APS. Sorry :(

So...no one wanted to hire you once you went on a job interview and kept telling them over and over that the company was being run incorrectly and it was never going to make it if they kept up on the path they were on, huh? :p
