OCD things you do when you play pool

I have a tendency to place both pieces of chalk together on the rail before I shoot. I'm pretty sure I picked this up from watching Chris Bartrum play on TAR a couple of years back. They also, cannot be in my line of sight. What weird/OCD things do you do when you play?

before the break

I move a piece of chalk above the 2nd diamond on both sides. Also can't stand when players leave chalk upside down so flip that shit over quickly.

Chalk my cue before I shoot ...

I also air-stroke when I'm in the zone.

.

After I chalk, I stroke the shaft from the top down to clear off the chalk dust.

I take the change out of my left pocket before I start playing. I didn't even notice this until my wife mentioned it one day at a tournament. She asked me Why I do that, I had no idea I did. She said I do it every time. Now I can't help but think of it every time I get ready to play.

That evil women.....

i'm pretty OCD about my joint protectors, when I take my cue out and take them off, I lay the shaft and the butt on the table, then screw the cue together, lay it back on the table, then screw my joint protectors together and put them in my case, repeat process for when I Pack up my cue.:smash:

Lol, pretty funny

chalk

This is what I was looking for, and I also hate when someone leaves the chalk upside down.

I hate it because it gets more chalk on the table and more on your hands and clothes. I move a piece to bothe sides so either way I walk after the break a piece is ready but not in my way while trying to decide where to break from after I see the rack.

When I play IBA after I rack I tap the cue ball out of wherever he has it so he doesn't break so fast and try to kill me.

I move the chalk out of my line of sight every time. Only this isn't OCD for me...it will distract me. I find that I actually don't do anything every time though. I'm just not the OCD type...maybe if I were I could play better.
:grin-square:

i push my glasses up by the nose piece. i never realized how habitual it was until i played without my glasses and started poking myself between the eyebrows

I had LASIK last year and still find myself trying to push my 'glasses' up before almost every shot. I have also been told that I bite my bottom lip every time I am lining up a sharp cut.

Just to clarify...when I say "spin my cue" I don't mean the Tom Cruise Hollywood crap he was doing against Marzelle, I mean just spin it in the palm of my hand :o

Prior to chalking every time, I grab the cube with my thumb and middle finger and roll it over with my pointing finger so it's upside down. I then flick it towards the floor to remove chalk-dust remnants sitting in the middle of the cube. It's like a pre-chalk routine that's become a part of my pre-shot routine.

I take everything out of my pockets except cash and mp3 player if I am wearing my earbuds.

And everyone that has either watched or played Johnny Archer knows what he does. picking lint off the table and pulling balls out of a pocket that he is not even shooting into! I thought I was gonna cry laughing watching him and Cliff play....Johnny and his powder and Cliff with his rag wiping down everywhere Johnny was.

Quite often I polish my cue with the towel, even if it's unnecessary.

Same here.. I try to get the chalk further apart, for convenience. Upside-down chalk gets correct right away, too.

We need a support group. :o

My name is Banks and I try to remove excess chalk from the tip with a blow of air. I know I mostly do it out of habit and feel like sometimes I'm not even accurate with it, just a general direction kind of thing.. chalk, pull the cue close, give a puff and go about my shot. :(
