Odd question

I had the leather wrap taken off my cue and replaced with linen.
Is there much of a difference in the weight of these two?
Did i decrease or increase the weight of the cue?

gonna be tough

I believe leather wrap is a bit thicker than linen. The butt would have to be recut or the wrap area would have to be filled and recut for linen. I think the weight difference would be slight.

The leather wrap was taken off and the glue cleaned up and the linen put right on.
the net result was that it was a little thinner and that fit my rather short fingers much better.
And as a side note the handle under the wrap on my Lucasi was made from pie shaped wood .My cue maker said that was done to make it stiffer.
I was there and watched him do the whole job.

i must be wrong

all the leather wraps i have in stock are thicker than a normal linen thread, but in your case the leather was the about same thickness as linen.

No the leather was thicker. after the linen was put on the handle was a little thinner
and the linen is a little bit lower then the wood .

It is .1 oz and today there are many suppliers of leather wraps that are the same thickness as linen or slightly thinner including Superior cues, Tiger and others. Ten years ago leather was sold in thicker pieces.

0.1oz is 2.835 grams. If you notice that weight increase over the length of the wrap channel, your mental game needs work. ;)

That did not have to be. Your 'cue-maker' should have known how to prevent that.
