*** Official Day Three Mosconi Cup Updates

Europe running out. They got a little flat on the 8 up on the top rail. 9 ball in the middle of the table, below the spot. Boyes draws it out two rails, and the cue ball is in the middle of the table. 50 yard line. He didn't have the stroke to get position but Niko with the back cut and win.

4-3

Schmidt is single handedly killing us in day 3's first match. He needs to step up his game before it's too late. On the flip side of that, Justin is playing fantastic. Too bad it's being wasted at present.
He played fantastic out versus Nick the other day. Pressure partners pool is very different. Europe is out and it's 4 to 3.

At least it's close. I like that.

JAM <--- trying to look for something nice to day

Boyes breaking. One in the side. Another ball goes down as well but the cue ball is up on top rail and Niko has a spot shot on the 2. He makes it and now it looks bad for the USA.

If he can't play partners pool, then why was he selected for the team? He's bloodshot in the eyes like he's either crumbling to the pressure or drunk/stoned. Either way, he's been disappointing today. The difficulty of the shots he's tanked wasn't that bad. I understand it's a big event with a lot of pressure, but again, if you can't handle it, then you can't handle it. The USA has had many, many opportunities in this match and nearly every single one has been botched by Schmidt.

Boyes with the 6, 7 in the upper right corner by Niko. 9 on the spot and Boyes takes the match for Europe. Again with the shooting the arrow move.

Ouch...

I think i am developing mosconi related ptsd. I wonder what is with schmidts Pre shot routine he is adjusting a lot when he is down on the shot.

I really liked the choice of the younger team we had this year but was worried from the start about Schmidt and that match validated those worries for sure. Nick played well, which was nice to see, and Justin played better, albeit in a losing effort. Too bad.

He gets down the up again usually. What he isn't used to doing is getting obsessed with moving cueball perfectly for his young partner. His partner is the one who is steady. He looks shaky as a lamb. Gotta think there are a few dozen Americans who could handle this better.

I didn't think Hall played all that well then either (neither did Boyes or Nikos until the last couple of racks). Schmidt made more errors for sure, he had a horror show, but everyone had a bad game there to some extent.

Hall missed the opening shot and another shot that Schmidt told him to shoot. Beyond that he played perfect and awesome.

Here come the players - Hall and Niko. Cues already at their seats. Entrance of high fiving both sides of the aisle as they enter the pit.

Great lag by Hall but Niko just edges him out. No shame there.
