Well, Bank Pool with 9 balls is just that, without the rest of the balls. First to 5 wins, I believe. Bank 9 Ball is 9 Ball banking all balls, at least, that's what I've heard.
I think Bank Pool rules are in the BCA rule book.
 
Playing 9-ball having to bank everything would be interesting. I'm gonna see if anyone here wants to give it a try.

Call pocket

All scratches are CB b/h the head string.

Non called balls that are made are spotted up after your turn at the table.

Spot up balls on fouls (just like one pocket)
-if you make a ball and commit a foul on the same shot you pay up the made ball since it was made on an illegal shot and then pay up another for the foul.

No combinations, and balls must be made clean (kisses/double kisses not allowed)

No carom shots

Kicks are no good (some play 3rail kicks are ok, as was the US Open bank pool at Gradys Gulf Coast classic in 04)

SHort Rack
First to 5 wins in short rack banks (9balls in rack)
-break shot
- you must hit the head ball, and drive at least one ball past the side pockets

Long Rack
First to 8 wins in long rack banks (all 15 balls)
-break shot
-can hit any ball on opening break, two balls must contact cushion.

safetys are just like 9 ball, CB must contact a ball and then either the OB or CB has to hit a rail if a ball is not pocketed.

no foul for OB jumped off table, CB jumping off table is a foul

No freezing spotted balls to the CB, OB's freeze to OB's on spot

Does anyone find it irritating to play banks with a person that lays their cue on the table to measure every shot several times, then taking way too long to execute their chosen shot? Felt like I was trapped in a YouTube instructional video!
I consider this a Shark.
After reading the bank rules from 2 sources, nowhere is it mentioned against using your cue as an aid in aiming.
Never before have I played banks with a person that did this, nor seen anyone do this in action.
Anyone else here who play allot of Bank Pool and use their cue laid across the table to measure every single shot?
My pals I've spoken to about this just laugh and shake their heads because I'm so worked up about it. Lol.
My circle does seem to agree that this aiming is not typically socially acceptable in a bank game, but the world is a big place.
What say you?

Some sets of rules have a rule against using your stick to line up shots but it is not a foul as long as you keep a hand on the stick.

Usually that stuff doesn't irritate me as long as the guy loses, but if he's taking 90 seconds per shot with multiple measurements and adjustments, it would soon start to grate.

Play someone else.

See what you do with a player like that is you open your bag and pull out some buddy holly glasses white tape in middle with a protractor...and fully rib the hell out the dude and use that Chappell’s voice for white folks

I assume you play with a jointed cue. I don't play slow players unless I'm stealing ( then they can even make up rules, cheat, do what they want...they still can't win ). But if it gambling, I use the jointed cue to unscrew ! Put the cue away and have a coke ! Let him sit there with no action until he agrees to speed up his play. Its important to put your cue in its case and move away from the table. That says there in NO chance of playing him ever with that slow game of his !
