Lyn...and then there's UPA and NAPA too. To illustrate the dramatic difference between "in house/non affiliated" league play vs national affiliated league play...the local leagues outnumber the national leagues, put together, by a factor of 10-1. The huge majority of people who play league pool do not play in anything other than their local league (which are often 'cash' leagues). Like you said, they have no knowledge of, or desire, to go to Vegas (or wherever).

Don't forget TAP, VNEA and ACS. They also help bring players out. Several of the pool rooms I frequent also offer "in house" league play. Lots of folks don't care if they go to Vegas for a "National" tournament. Or pay extra for the priviledge.
