Last I heard BB was restarting- First Rodney -then there was an official vague Email from Larry C. Then JumpinJoe stated unequivocally that the Players would get paid and it would return in 'early October' (about now) with a bunch of 'taped matches' that would finish off the season in half ass fashion.

So Who knows what now? Somebody musta heard something?

I can neither confirm or deny. Gag order for what will surely be another worst kept pool secret.

Let their PR team weave their magic.

I was under the impression that it was supposed to be the beginning of November. But not really sure if anyone really knows. I have tried to contact the folks at Bonus Ball but have had no luck!

Yes, I've heard something, and what I've heard is not something that is good for the players. It sounds like Bonus Ball's management is just trying to keep their own dream alive; a dream that has turned into a nightmare for all those who have invested time, money, and effort into the project. Even if the season is completed as proposed, it won't look anything like what it started out to be. Plus, it probably won't be anything that will garner the interest of any future potential investors. Larry and Kim should just cut their losses and admit that the project has been a failure. They should pay the players what they already owe them, and then let them off the hook by not trying to entice them back to Vegas with partial payments and false promises of future success.

The latest

I heard today that checks have been mailed out for partial amounts. The players are supposed to assemble in Vegas on October 31. The unpaid balances for each player is supposed to be paid upon their arrival. The player who I spoke with said that all players must be paid in full before the first ball is hit.

I can't imagine that the players are all going to show up under those circumstances. He says they will. I'm very skeptical. IMO, that good faith payment isn't enough. To these guys, I guess it is.

We will know more in a few days, once these players receive and cash this first batch of checks. If they all clear, I suspect that the players will be in Vegas October 31.

And there you have it. The latest.

Couldnt say that any better or even half as well.

The only people (50-75 tops) interested in it enough to pay were real pool fans. Now with taped matches, most of those fans will be gone. By the time they appeal to the layman, if ever, they will already have been broke years earlier.

Where are they going to get money between now, where they cant pay in full and 3 weeks from now?

I dont even understand the rules..... I think the money would have been better spent on trying to create a actual pro tour.

Or something id like to see a scotch doubles pro league/series/tour to promote womens and mens pool together could be fun to watch especially seeing the pairing of what man with which woman.

But mine wasn't.

Your statement may have been purely speculative. Mine was not;)

Idiots and suckers keep scammers in business !!!! It is beyond me ,who is dumb enough to even think about falling for this? I don't think it will ever happen, but if it does, the suckers that fall for it are beyond hope.

Dennis Hatch made a Facebook post today that said he was currently in Vegas for Bonus Ball and The Mosconi Cup.

He gave no other details on the subject, nor were there any in the comments.

Hopefully the players get all monies due.

I don't think there ever was an intention by Larry to scam anyone. He had a dream. He got some backing, and pursued that dream. I just think it got to the point where his dreams got much bigger than his backers were willing to go along with. He got in too deep, and didn't back off when he should have. Now he's got this gigantic mess on his hands that he's still trying to do something with, but I don't see how it can ever work.

As for the players and production crew, how can we rightfully call them "idiots and suckers?" They were offered a job and they took it. How many of us have ever demanded to see financial reports and bank statements from potential employers? My guess would be, none. We want a job, we're offered a job, and we take the job. Sometimes the job turns into something long-term, and sometimes it doesn't. As a matter of fact, sometimes jobs we've taken have turned out to be nightmares. But at those times, should we consider ourselves to be idiots and suckers? I don't think so. We needed a job, we took a gamble, and it didn't pay off. Nothing new there.

It could be that the players and production crew are now just playing along with Bonus Ball's management to get what they are already owed. If they are, I don't blame them for that. I hope they get all they can possibly get, and then get on with their lives. I wish all of them the very best. I also thank them all for giving their best efforts to bring us something new. I'm just sorry it didn't work out better.

Well said, Roger. This is America. Why call ANYONE an idiot or scammer or whatever when they are simply trying to make something happen? I thought it was noble to work hard and be innovative.

Shame on those who criticize those who try to do something in pool. And THEN accuse those same people of foul play when they don't even know all the facts.

I don't mind relevant and thought-provoking discourse on any forum, but why must the anonymity create posters who simply want to demean others? It is really upsetting sometimes.......

Roger,my comments about idiots and suckers was directly aimed at anyone NOW, who knows all the facts about BB, and still wants to be involved in BB failure.Businesses do fail all the time. But when they have no legitimate business plan,no way of making enough revenue to pay bills, constantly lie to employees about payment ,they are not a legitimate company. They were a complete failure. You can call them whatever you want.I call them a scam because of the lies and continious false/broken promises.BB has caused many players severe personal damage as well as severe financial damage. If anyone thinks it is ok to lie and cheat people, that is their choice. To honestly fail in business is one thing ,but that is not the case with BB.Anyone who NOW would want to be associated with the BB people still believes in the EASTER BUNNY,SANTA CLAUS and CASPER.

The players are supposed to assemble in Vegas on October 31. The unpaid balances for each player is supposed to be paid upon their arrival.

So, in effect the playerrs are being blackmailed into showing up to get paid for money that they have already effectively earned.

If they don't come back like good little dogs and wag their tail at their master Larry and Co. then they won't get paid the money which they have already worked for and are due by any labor laws that exist in the USA.

Here is a word of advice to all of the professionals who are owed money.

1) Keep all written documentation (digital and hard copies) about you being owed this money and being told you will receieve it in Vegas "if" you show up.

2) As a group hire a lawyer that you will then split the costs for as a class action lawsuit.

3) Proceed to have that lawyer draft a letter to the people in charge of Bonus Ball demanding that full payment be made to those that are owed money without any requirements about being in Vegas in person to collect or any further obligations towards Bonus Ball as services for money's owed have already been rendered.

4) After you get paid walk away from Bonus Ball and never look back.

Confirms what I heard from one of the players. The deal is they get 2/3rds of what they are owed up front and the balance upon arrival. The entire first season will be completed during the first week of November. After he shared this with me all I could say was Good Luck!

It's worse, 1/3.
